It is a very light and airy apartment in an area that is very popular with locals. The balcony overlooks interior of the block, filled with backyard gardens, in the distance 2 blocks away you can see the polo grounds. It is a very chic (Greenwich Village style) neighborhood. Four square block area filled with restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and eclectic shops. Downtown B.A. location, Two blocks to Av Libertador, the most famous avenue through downtown B.A, a couple of blocks away is a subway and bus transit center (Plaza Italia). Many attractions are located close by. One of the best steak houses (Campo Bravo) is located 1/2 block away. Anyone who knows downtown B.A. will tell you this is one of the most coveted locations. This is our second home. My mother will meet you at arrival and show you around. We don't mess around with inventory lists, and their are no hidden fees. Bedding, linens and towels are high quality, as is the queen bed. Most other rentals, this is not the situation. We are very low key (We live in the U.S.) and will negotiate for long term rentals. If you want to live like a Porteno (local, city center, born and raised) , this is the place for you. Great place to spend a month or two and immerse in another culture. All long term rentals, two weeks or more, get a weekly cleaning from our maid, Angelica, including towels and sheets cleaned. Email us with any questions you have and read our wonderful reviews. Two cell phones are provided free of charge, for your convenience.

Many major attractions are located within easy walk or taxi ride. River Plate football stadium, Polo Grounds, Hippodrome racetrack, Rose Gardens, Japanese Gardens, Zoo, Golf Course, and entrance to BA city park is 3 block walk. Recoleta (with Evitas cemetary), Belgrano Palermo, Palermo Soho, Palermo Viejo and Palermo Hollywood all surround this wonderful neighborhood. Small grocery stores, sandwich shops, cafes, coffee shops, antique stores are all very inexpensive and popular with locals. Very safe neighborhood, which we have lived in for 7 years. Elevator and Full time property manager(Portero)/doorman, on site. 5th floor apt. with unobstructed views. Private Balcony. Perfect for traveling couple or single on a budget. Good location for language school student.

Other Activities: Great Restaurants and Cafes. Very quiet neighborhood during the day and lively at night. Very safe area with 24 hour police presence on street.

A Cozy Apartment in BA

As a single woman traveling alone in BA my main concern was safety and I selected this apartment primarily for its safe location and that it was in a secure building.
The building's location is in a lively neighborhood of restaurants and cafes. The apartment itself is great for two people and is cheerful with a wall of glass sliding doors that lets the sun in. I especially enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the mornings with my cup of coffee taking in a city view. The bed is full size and quite comfortable. The kitchen is adequate with a small refrigerator, microwave and oven which I did not use as I am not familiar with gas ovens. Each week a housekeeper came to clean the apartment and change the linens and did a terrific job. The bathroom is small but has a well pressurized shower. Lots of extra towels and linens are provided in the apartment as is a great working blowdryer. There is WIFI and lots of reading material and touring information
provided as well. The owners are very helpful in providing information about the area and BA. There is some street noise from the restaurants on the weekends.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay in this apartment and would recommend it to a single person or couple.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Las Canitas and the location was great for us. the owners and their family provided excellent customer service. I would recommend the apt. to friends. The property was clean. We liked strolling Baez Street and enjoyed the restaurants and cafe's in the area. The only glitch was the delay with the Wi-Fi and trying use the telephone. We found the information sheet very helpful. thank-you so much.

Perfect spot

I stayed in this lovely apartment for almost two months. The apartment is well furnished and clean. The building is well maintained and the encargado (doorman) is both friendly and helpful. The owners went out of their way to make sure I had found everything I needed and that I was comfortable.

The apartment is perfect for either one or two people. There are plenty of utensils and kitchen equipment for basic cooking and eating. I did not do any intensive cooking while I stayed because.... this apartment is located RIGHT in the middle of restaurant row in Las Canitas. (And about a 10 minute walk from the BEST place in Buenos Aires to have coffee and pastries: La Imprenta-- try it!)

The location is amazing-- hardly a step from restaurants, shops, and bakeries. The nearest Subte stop is about a seven minute walk. There is also a train station about 8-10 minute walk which you can use to get to Retiro or out of town to Tigre. There are many bus stops about 3 blocks away on Avenida Luis Campos. I found that I had easy access to all of Buenos Aires and the surrounds.

The neighborhood is upscale but also friendly. I made the acquaintance of neighbors and shop keepers. There are a lot of families in the neighborhood-- it's great to watch them all congregate outside the local ice cream shops in the evenings. This area is quite safe.

If I am lucky enough to return to Buenos Aires, you'll find me back in this apartment.

Tremendous value

This apartment was as good as it gets. We rented in early March and in a heat wave so the air conditioner was essential and much appreciated. We come from a cold climate. It is in a very social area full of quality restaurants (most of which we tried) and grocery stores and laundromats and near enough to subway stops. All cabbies knew where "Las Canitas" was. Hadn't figured out the bus system but next time... The shower/bath was great with no shortage of hot water. The owners even provided shampoo and toothpaste, a bonus for those of us who are not allowed to take"liquids" on the plane. Very clean and easy to keep that way. We were provided with a great synopsis of the place and tips for the neighbourhood and made use of it. Can't think of anything that it lacked for us.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing

Excellent Buenos Aires Apartment

""We spent a week at this lovely apartment in BA and enjoyed the amenities, location and courtesy of the owners.
It did not start off well as we had flown in from Nova Scotia and Air Canada had left one of our bags in Toronto. As a result we were more than two hours late for our appointment and the representative had gone. The next door restaurant called her and she arrived in 5 minutes. The owners called us from the US that evening to ensure that everything was alright.
The apartment is well located on Baez street which is in a fashionable neighbourhood filled with restaurants and night life. Fortunately, the apartment is at the back of the building so there was no late night noise. The view of the Polo grounds and surrounding high rises is quite stunning. There is a large supermarket a few blocks away and we were able to get provisions right away.
There were many little necessities left in the apartment such as spices and oil which made life much easier. There was plenty of room for the two of us and another family member could be easily accommodated. A very clean and pleasantly furnished apartment. I highly recommend it and thank the owners for all information and recommendations.""
