The ride from Honolulu Airport to this destination is a quick one once you make your way off of the H-2. You find your
ride somewhat like climbing the mountain side but not quite making the top, but once you make your way down the mountainside you have the most awesome panaramic view of the the whole North Shore, the towns of Haleiwa, Waialua and the tip of Mokouleia. The ride down the "snake road" to the town is very curvey but the beauty of this side of the island is so incredible. When you find your way to this house it's quite off the beaten path, you are nestled into a nice clean spacious neighborhood. The entrance informs you immediatly of the privacy and mystery behind the large solid gates. The yards are well maintained and lush, so much space that you are instantly impressed with this gem of a find. The Koi pond small waterfall that the caretaker has created is in itself is so typical Hawaiian, your own pond to play and listen and enjoy right outside the decks. This house has everything! Incredible plants and fauna, all the decks surround the home which lift you up above the very large plants, you feel like your in a jungle that is so beautiful. Once upstairs on the main floor, you are taken back at how cool this house is setup, you get a main house and a suite! The main house holds the ample kitchen, 3 cooks worked at a time in the kitchen so it's size is comfortable, the living room is small but the TV is large so no matter where you are in this part of the house you are in view. All the sliders open to the decks. You can see the ocean but many of the trees block a complete view but you can really hear it, especially in the middle of the night, all the windows seem to face the ocean. The master bedroom is very oversized and larger than a motel room! The extra beds are located in the lofts that are really only ideal if you are young at heart and can handle a ladder staircase to get to them. This part of the house had 3 big beds.
The suite next door was my home for my two weeks. This was perfect for me, 2 bedrooms and another loft with one bed per. I enjoyed the larger living room than you would expect for a suite, it was very comfortably furnished. The private deck off the bedroom and living room were a nice extra. Both bathrooms are very nicley appointed and the thick oversized towels make it extra nice. No kitchen in this suite which is fine. The home is very clean and has ample kitchenware to make you want to cook big meals and feed a party. Down stairs is another full 2 bedroom suite with a efficency kitchen, that incles a burner range, sink and refrigerator. This part of the house is very private and more Asian in theme. This house has almost everything, including an outside on the deck Bali bar with a sink/small refrigerator, the smoothie machine was broken so we such stared at it wishing for slushies and margaritas! The whole house has 3 refrigerators! Unless you rent the whole house, which is what we did, the snorkels and boogie boards and Kayak and surf boards etc. were extra in cost, minimal but should be included since the final cost on the house is not cheap. The yard, tennis court and access to the beach is easy to get around. This house is not on the beach directly but has it's own access down a short walkway, This was fine but you do walk between 2 homes. This is a great beach to stay on, very private and secluded, a nude beach is a short walk and a cove that gives you nice reefs to snorkle into, We swam with the turtles every morning and watched the local neighborhood surfers. All in all this is a great home with a wonderful setting. Staying in the North Shore area really is so much more Hawaii than being locked into the city in a skyscraping hotel. This home is about 25+ years old and has been well kept and shows. This is a home were celebraties stay to get away from the hustle bustle of Honolulu. We had 16 family members share this home, ranging in age from 10 to 83. We loved cook outside on t
