Bungalow, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Casa Mono Coco is a distinctive two story A-frame Teak and Stucco House nestled among other cabinas in a tranquil jungle setting one mile South of Quepos and two miles North of Costa Rica's world famous Manuel Antonio National Park. The kitchen is fully furnished for eating in although the area abounds with many restaurants and catering is available for special needs.

The upstairs bedroom is reached by a wrought iron spiral staircase leading to the upstairs. Casa Mono Coco is air-conditioned for your comfort and has many glass doors through which the jungle view is maintained sans insects. To the rear a new patio and veranda has just been constructed for outdoor enjoyment. The jungle patio has become the bottom floor of an upstairs addition where there is presently now a huge teak and almond wood veranda that is reached through sliding glass doors upstairs or a small ladder downstairs. From this veranda one has a unique view of the rainforest. On the screened downstairs patio you have the use of two twin beds and find yourself dining in nature. Out the back door is the planned expansion for a garden terrace and access to a washer and dryer shared with neighbors.

Monkeys live in the treetops and sometimes are on the roof or are watching you swim from over the pool area and sloths slowly climb the trees about the gardens searching out their favorite food leaves. On the grounds you will find Coco Palms and other trees with edible fruit ripe for the blender, as well as ferns, bromeliads and orchids. When it rains the area abounds with the sounds of Costa Rica's famed tree frogs. The large green ones can then be seen swimming about the children's pool and the tiny Green and Black Poison Dart Frogs who live on the leaves and branches of the garden plants come out of hiding. At night male fireflies search the area for their female counterparts who are actually the 'glow-worms' on the ground flashing signals to the males flying about. The garden area abounds with a variety of native wildlife such as Capuchin Monkeys, Congo Monkeys, Black Iguanas sunning in unexpected places, Two and Three Toed Sloths, and enormously mysterious butterflies where the male and the female are entirely unalike. Swimming at night in Casa Mono Coco's pool yields a star-studded sky unlike that known in North America. A day trip to the Naranjo river at Jardin Pochote just upstream of the Londres Bridge is take a refreshing swim complimented by homemade sweets from Ronulfo's Tienda. Guestbook comments from the owner

John and Lisa commented in the CasaMonoCoco guest book: "This place is a terrific find! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here, the monkeys, the people, all added to our vacation stay. The weather was perfect for daily surfing, fishing was great, and the house is lovely. It is high enough in the tree tops to make it seem like you are part of the jungle without infringing on it, it is very quiet and it is a lovey place to enjoy a vacation sans civilization. The manager of the place was always around and attentive to our every need. He was able to arrange transportation and tours to suit us including a weekend visit to the wild Osa Peninsula. Carlos Mora, friend of the owner, was able to provide an overnight trip to the mountains to view the Witch's Caldron which was an excellent way to see a real slice of Costa Rican life.
