Our ranch is a family orientated property that stands on 350 acres and accommodates up to 20 people if you rent all the structures. We have 8 bedrooms in total between the Lodge (4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms), Guest House (3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms), & Creek Side Cottage (1 bedroom & 1 bathroom). In addition, the Living Rooms provide 3 extra air mattresses. All 3 homes are within 100 yards of each other. If desired, you have the ability to rent just the Lodge outside of June, July, August & holidays (we always rent the ranch in it’s entirety during the summer & holidays). if you are entertaining a small group. And you need not worry... we never share the ranch (invite more than one reservation during any time period).
We stayed at The El Dorado Ranch for my 50th birthday. We rented the whole property and it was a blast. My nieces, nephews and my 3 children (in their early 20's)stayed in the quest house which they loved. They were able to use the game room until late into the night and not disturb us. The main house was just perfect for all of us to be together! The creek, trails and views were better than any of us had expected. Roger (the caretaker) was an extra added bonus. He made bonfires for us and provided endless laughs. Try his fresh eggs for breakfast. They're delicious. With everthing there is to do at the ranch you never have to leave to find entertainment. This place is an absolute must for all ages!! We're already planning our next trip.
This place was perfect.
I had the pleasure of hosting a retreat for 18 people at the El Dorado Ranch—and this place exceeded expectations (the photos on this page only do partial justice to the real beauty and functionality of the The Ranch).
For starters, the grounds are amazing. We were fortunate to have fantastic February weather, and I think we utilized every inch of the The Ranch. Given that there are three houses on the grounds, there were ample beds for everyone in to sleep. And from towels to toiletries, everything is waiting for us. The main house is perfectly decorated in hunting lodge style with a huge living room that allowed us to enjoy a movie. The fully-stocked kitchen was perfect to cook meals for everyone with the food we brought.
But enough with the indoors—The El Dorado is clearly designed for outdoor living. The deck off the main house served as a great place to sit, eat, and enjoy. We maximized the use of the gas grill. And at night, the most brilliant stars were visible. The hot tub was another great treat.
And then there is the game room. A converted barn that houses a pool table, a foosball table, and a Ping-Pong table. It’s huge! It’s so much fun.
Our highlight was the big open field. It’s as big as a football field and more than enough room to host the “Olympic Games” that we crafted. The outdoor fire pit served as our cauldron, which allowed for fun (and warmth) all through the night.
George is a marvelous host, and was able to answer all my questions leading up to our trip. I went up there with a bunch of friends, but now I want to return in the summertime with my family, to enjoy the El Dorado Ranch all over again.
Fantastic place for a family/large group gathering. We arrived Christmas Eve to find the living room of the lodge decorated with a Christmas Tree and stockings hung over the fireplace which made it feel like home. The place is well stocked with extra furniture, tons of cooking and serving dishes and room for entertaining. Thank goodness for the huge stack of firewood as the weather was well below freezing most days so the 2 wood stoves kept us cozy. Hope to return again soon!
Having visited the El Dorado Ranch once before I knew it would be the perfect location for my 40th celebration, and it was just that! Having friends and family from California and the east coast gather in the middle of Gold Country was the perfect get away for all of us. The accommodations suited us perfectly, the hot tub was clean and warm for the chilly late September mornings and each and everyone of us had adequate space so we all felt cozy and happy for the weekend. Cannot wait to visit again!
what a wonderful place, clean, comfortable, a brand new sectional sofa that was hard to move off of!!!! New reclining chairs! We had a great time by the pool - sparkling clean and the hot tub was perfect! honestly the pictures are good but it is just an awesome place. we had a full moon that seemed exceptionally bright ,thank you Jesus! Two of our ladies witnessed a hawk swoop 4feet from them to nab a mouse. We left a back door open (oops) and a raccoon left us a present on the kitchen floor cause we didn't leave any food out for him to steal! We all just had a terrific time and all of us being Christians totally appreciated all the beauty and serenity. To George...thank you for your special treatment...you made our time at your home most excellent. Sincerely, the women of the ladies retreat!
We had an amazing time here, even though the weather was bit sub par, for the weekend we went. This place has everything you need for entertainment. You just go with food / ingredients to prepare food, and you don't have to step out of the gate for anything. It has many little trails within the property. Game room is huge ! Swimming pool, hot tub, large deck, big living room, camp fire spot a small gym..and the list go on. The owner and the property care taker are very helpful. Highly recommended !! We will go here again next year.
