Inside the Cabin: The kids (and you) will love the wilderness lodge theme featuring the whitetail deer, bear, and moose. The bedrooms have log beds and are decorated according to the theme. There is a Game Loft - have fun with the PS2, board games, and puzzles. Or sit back and watch great movies or cable TV programs on the wide-screen LCD High-Definition TV in the living room.

Outside the cabin: Relax on the covered front porch and enjoy the sweeping pastoral views of rolling meadows and the nearby mountains. On a quiet day or night you can hear the stream from the pasture across the property. The over sized deck has a gas grill for those evening barbecues.

Centrally Located: Far from the madding crowd, yet centrally located if you wish to visit major attractions in the North Carolina mountains: Asheville & Biltmore Estate - 30 minutes, Wolf Ridge Ski resort - 15 minutes, South Toe River / Carolina Hemlocks Recreation - 25 minutes, Mt. Mitchell State Park - 50 minutes, Blue Ridge Parkway - 20 minutes. Other attractions or activities within a short drive: Horseback riding, Mt. Mitchell Golf, Whitewater rafting on the French Broad River or the Nolichucky, Gem Mining (Spruce Pine & Little Switzerland), Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Hot Springs, Toe River arts and crafts (a variety of artist galleries), Penland School of Arts.

My family stayed at the Carolina Whitetail in October 2008 and had a wonderful time. It is in driving distance of any attraction you would ever want to see. The cabin was extreamly clean and neat. The view was awesome! The owner gave us a military discount which was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this cabin for your next stay in the Asheville area.

My family stayed at the Carolina Whitetail October 2008 and it was awesome. It was located near any attraction you would want. The cabin was very clean and neat. I would highly recommend this cabin for your next Asheville area stay.
