Wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the lake and to the sound of the loons. You can enjoy the view of the lake from the front deck overlooking the lake or from the enclosed porch. We even have a back deck to enjoy. Enjoy peace and quiet on the private road of only 6 houses. Row boat and canoe on premises with private boat dock. A new roof, new doors and new windows were installed in 2006. You will always find our cabin clean and comfortable. Sorry, no pets. We are within driving distance of Colby, Thomas and Unity colleges. Feel free to call or email us with any questions.

Nearest Train: Portland, ME (Amtrak) at 80 Miles
Nearest Motorway: I-95 in Waterville at 9 Miles
Nearest Beach: beach at 60 Miles

China is 15 miles NE of the capital of Maine, Augusta. China is an area of 54 square miles with four villages; China, South China, Weeks Mills and Branch Mills. It has three major bodies of water; China Lake, Three Mile Pond, and Branch Pond. China Lake is 3832 acres with a maximum depth of 85 feet. You can fish for salmon, togue, small mouth bass and white perch. The town of China is in Kennebec County. Our camp is within walking distance of the China General Store, China post office, and China library. Waterville is the nearest town which is approximately 10 miles. Interstate 95 can be accessed in Waterville. There are also several chain restaurants, discount stores, drug stores, and grocery stores in addition to a quaint downtown with numerous shops and restaurants. Augusta, the State's capital is approximately 20 miles Southwest of the camp with additional shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing. Many of Maine's incredible coastal villages are within 1-2 hour drive.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Summer rates $700 per week, fall rates $500 per week plus cleaning fee and 7% Maine Lodging Tax.
  • Rental periods are Saturday through Saturday. Check in 3 pm/check out 11 AM.
    Non Refundable Deposit of $300 required at time of reservation. Remaining balance
    plus $200 refundable security deposit due two weeks prior to rental.
    Add additional $75 Cleaning Fee to all rentals. Add 7% Maine Lodging Tax to all rental rates.
  • Weekend rate available when camp is not rented and at owner's discretion. Holidays slightly higher.

my husband and i rented this cabin for a week. it was absolutely my favorite vacation. the sunrise and sunsets are beautiful. we went bass fishing, we both caught fish. we went to near by resturants, grocery stores, and shops. everyone was delightful. maine is a wonderful state, ad this cabin is perfect !!

We rented this camp for a week in June 2008 while vacationing near our family. We've stayed in many camps on China Lake and this is definitely the cleanest and most well-maintained we have experienced. There are many games and books to enjoy. It is an easy walk to China village or an easy paddle over to the Landing for ice cream. We spent time kayaking and just enjoying the call of the loons.
