Photos and Description of the Romulus vacation cottage rental
1BR/1Full BA Sleeps 6-Bedroom with 2 double beds. LR with 2 pull out couches

Guests tell me the photos don't do the cottage and property justice. Read our reviews. Very private. Clean. Lots of space. Drive down to the beach. We have a launching area on the property. The East side of Seneca Lake has lots of sun and beautiful sunsets. Dock and new deck. Close to wineries, college campuses, and Sampson State Park. Ten miles from Geneva for shopping, movies, and food. Two Five Star restaurants within 15 miles. We completed the renovation of this cottage six years ago and several of our visitors come back every year. One bedroom with two double beds and a large living room with two pull out couches can sleep 6. New kitchen appliances, cupboards, air conditioning, and microwave. We added a pellet stove for visits in the early spring or late fall for wine tours, an aluminum boat for fishing, a canoe and kayak for sunsets on the lake. For further information, call or e-mail me. It is a lovely place to relax.

Enjoy the quiet - pets welcome.: This is our sixth year renting our renovated cottage. Already visitors and their pets from the last five summers have made reservations for this coming summer. Everyone enjoyed swimming in the lake, laying on the dock, visiting the wineries (we have three within 7 miles) and local restaurants. Others have ventured to Ithaca, Rochester, and Canandaigua to visit museums, gourmet restaurants, and historic sites. The bedroom is above the lake so when you wake up in the morning, you feel like you are on a boat, overlooking the lake. The kitchen and dining area are on the bottom floor and look right out onto the water. There are many places to walk including a two mile hike up to Sampson State Park.

If you need to get away from the stress of your life, this is the place.

Enjoy the Lake: This is not for you IF you want a high stress vacation. See the herons land on the dock each evening and the ducklings come by each morning. The waves will rock you to sleep. Swim and kayak during the day. Take out the rowboat to fish. Have beach fires at night and visit our many wonderful wineries and restaurants nearby. This is truly the country and as our friend Simon always says, 'They aren't building any more lakes.'

Notes: You can drive down on the beach to unload. Then drive around the side to park (off street). Very close and works well for older adults who have trouble walking distances. We have a two person aluminum canoe, an aluminum fishing boat and a one person kayak which works well on the lake. Paddle together in the canoe or take the kayak and hook an inner tube to the back and take your spouse for a ride. We do have full cell phone service and provide a CD player, radio, DVD player and TV along with lots of movies available for nightly showings. We do not have cable TV or internet service. We believe a low tech vacation helps our guests relax, forget about work, enjoy the lake, watch the campfire, talk, and/or read. Nightly sunsets is one of the best ways to relax and enjoy nature.

Perfect private getaway

The location and privacy of the cottage cannot be beat, not many rentals have so much lake front and privacy. Cindy has thought of everything you might need - from bath towels to paper towels to cutlery - the cottage has it. The wine trails are really great but my husband and I also enjoyed some of the local golf courses and hiking trails (Watkins Glen Gorge Trail is a must!). This is a perfect, relaxing getaway in a great, private location.

A Fantastic Find

The pictures do not do justice to this great lakefront getaway. The views and dock are amazing. The house was in beautiful, like new condition with all the amenities. We weren't missing any of the comforts of home. We will definitely stay here again if travels bring us back to Seneca Lake.

Thanks to the owners for being pet friendly!

A great place to get away

The web site said it all. Quiet, relaxing and stress free. The cottage was very clean with all the comforts of home. The pellet stove kept the chill away during the nights and the open windows allowed the lake air to fill the rooms during the day. Sitting by a camp fire enjoying the lake and toasting a beautiful sunset is the perfect way to end any day.
Being fifteen minutes from Geneva and Waterloo there are restaurants, department stores and anything else you might be looking for, and of course there is an ample supply of winery's.
Cindy does an excellent job with the cottages upkeep and is fully supplied.
We've already recommended this vacation spot to family and friends.

Cottage on Seneca Lake

We rented the cottage on East Lake Road in Romulus, NY on Seneca Lake and had a wonderful time! The cottage is more of a home than a camp, complete with great beds, bath, a complete kitchen with appliances (including a gas grill outside), beautiful family room, kayaks, canoe, row boat.... in short, everything for an outstanding week on the lake. The water was clean (you could see to the bottom) and the camp was secluded - it felt like we were alone on our own finger lake! All of our grandchildren who visited us had a great time and we took away wonderful memories of beautiful sunsets & tired kids!! I give this cottage my full endorsement!

Paradise Found

Lapping waves outside the window lull you to sleep; soft breezes cool you on even the hottest days; geese, ducks, herons entertain you; endless sky overhead invites quiet contemplation; it's perfect! If you desire more entertainment there are wine trails; Ithaca, Geneva, and Watkins Glen to explore; the Erie Canal is a short trip away; and on weekends there is even a Renaissance Festival to attend. The cottage is bright, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. There is a deck in the sun and one under the trees and you can drive right down to the cottage making it easy to unload. We couldn't be more pleased.
