Good Family Retreat
Review Submitted: January 20, 2008
Date of Stay: December 2007
This is the second time we have stayed at this property--This time we added on a couple of days from what we had previously arranged--since no one was coming in right after us-- and stayed there for 10 days. The owner deals fairly. He refunded the dog deposit when we didn't have any dogs come after all. He also refunded the price of a new DVD player when the one that was there wasn't working.
My husband really enjoyed being so close to the golf course, and I enjoyed being close to places to hike. Our children were there for the mountain biking. There are a variety of good places to ride. Also Mesquite Nevada is a little over a half hour away, so we drove over there for dinner one night. I found three quilt shops in town and had a great time doing some leisurely shopping for new projects.
The open floor plan is nice for family get togethers. Most of the things that are needed for cooking are available, and stores are very close by. You could walk to stores, restaurants and church if you want to. The house is far enough from the freeway and business area to be quiet and restful.
This house is not brand new, but it is clean and has some nice features and the basic furniture that is needed. The internet connection worked fine. The master bath and walk in closet are nice and give good privacy. The bed pillows are smallish, so if you want a bigger pillow, you might bring your own. We left an alarm clock there on purpose, so you don't need to bring that. You will want to bring your hair dryer, personal soap and shampoo as they are not furnished. All the cleaning supplies are provided along with the laundry facilities, so really, there is not much you need to bring. Same in the kitchen. You will find all the dishes and cookware you need for most items along with common spices, etc. Whatever is not there can easily be found close by.
The reason I checked good for people with disabilities is that the house is all one level. I can't remember if there is a step up at the front door, but if there is, it is a small one. If you go strictly by ADA standards, it does not meet all of them, but it is more open than most places you might rent, and there is a separate shower stall in the master bath.
I thought it was a good value for the price we paid, and we would stay there again.
