La Casita de Tucson is a unique private getaway for two adults. Our guesthouse includes a hot tub & counter-current pool and a large deck for picnics and sunbathing. Great view of the Catalina Mts from the pool area.
Located in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains, our guests feel the spaciousness and serenity of the Sonoran Desert and enjoy the beauty of our surrounding mountains and star-filled nights. But we are only 15 minutes from downtown and 25 minutes or less to the University of Arizona and several golf courses, including Quarry Pines & Starr Pass. Silverbell, a well-maintained muni, is only 10 minutes away. Good restaurants are about 15 minutes down the road.
The furnishings and decor are definitely Southwestern comfortable. The main room has a high-end home theater with 56' HDTV, Blue Ray DVD player, and built in surround sound. Here you will find an extensive library of CD's and DVD's. WiFi, of course.
The bathroom has a beautifully tiled walk-in shower. Fresh linens & towels provided.
La Casita has its own backyard, patio, and BBQ and our guests enjoy interesting grounds, including cactus gardens, a rose garden, a mission fountain, and three patios with many strange and fascinating plants. Laundry can easily be arranged. The washer/dryer are in the main residence. Just ask.
La Casita is perfect for those who want to visit Southern Arizona's many attractions, such as Bisbee, Tombstone, Titan Missile Site, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Air and Space Museum and our excellent history museums that illustrate the area's rich Native American, Spanish, Mexican and Anglo heritage. Ms. Karen & I retired to Tucson in 2003. Currently we publish Southern Arizona Guide, a content-rich website with over 80 dining reviews; over 50 original videos about the most interesting people & places in Southern Arizona; our recommendations for the best things to see & do; plus lot of local history & cultural heritage. Last year we had over 150,000 visitors to our website.
We do have advertisers on our website. Our rule is simple. If we cannot wholeheartedly recommend your establishment to our friends & family, you cannot advertise on Southern Arizona Guide.
Our dining reviews are as objective as we can make them. Seldom does a restaurant owner or manager know that we've been to his or her establishment until a week or two later when we publish our review on Southern Arizona Guide or on our Southern Arizona Guide blog.
I almost always take other with me to do a review. The deal is simple. I pay for the meals. They each have to order something different so we can sample a broad spectrum of menu items.
On our Southern Arizona Guide, there are restaurants, attractions, and other places that we DO NOT recommend. For the benefit of our website visitors, we are serious critics, not like you will find elsewhere.
Our casita is roomy & comfortable. It has its own back yard with cactus garden. But our guests can enjoy all of our other gardens such as the rose garden, and the anniversary garden.
Our guests have no sense that there is a major metropolitan area anywhere nearby. Yet, it takes only 15 minutes to get to the Historic District of Downtown Tucson and 22 minutes to the University of Arizona.
When we have no guests, the Casita is our den and home theater. Our guests get to take advantage of a very high end music & video system.
Another advantage of staying at La Casita is that very few locals know the area as well as we do. That's not bragging. It's our job. Our guests take advantage of our local knowledge. The best hiking trails, the best museums, the best art galleries and performing arts, etc. We love sharing our local knowledge. It's what we do.

When you indicate that you want to reserve specific dates, I will need 3 pieces of information: (1) your dates of arrival and departure; (2) a phone # where we can reach you while you are in residence if we need to; and (3) your mailing address so I can refund your security deposit. When I have this information, I will email you the rental agreement. If it is OK, sign and fax back to me.
Usually 50% at time of reservation; balance due 60 days in advance of arrival.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
