I WILL BE OUT OF THE COUNTRY FROM 9/11/2012 UNTIL 10/8/2012. IF THERE IS INTEREST IN RENTING THE HOUSE DURING THAT PERIOD, IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF YOU WOULD CONTACT ME ASAP. IF YOU TRY TO CONTACT ME WHILE I AM GONE, I MAY BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE YOU, BUT THE LOGISTICS WILL BE DIFFICULT.

Our house was built in 1998. It has beautiful views of the second-highest mountain in Georgia, and of the mountains of North Carolina and South Carolina. It is 20 miles from the Chattooga River which is some of the best white water in the eastern United States. The property is 32 fenced acres, with about ten acres in pasture in front of the house, and the remainder in hardwoods and pines.

The house is 10 miles from Highlands North Carolina, 2 hours (125 miles on Interstate) from Atlanta, and 45 miles from the Cherokee Indian Reservation, home of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation. It is about one hour 40 minutes from Asheville North Carolina, a city of, among other things, artisans and writers. The general area is filled with antique shops and arts/crafts shops. Even in the summer, sleeping most nights requires at least a quilt if not a down comforter. The kitchen is fully equipped with Cuisinart , spices, dried herbs, and virtually every cooking utensil imaginable.

Amazing mountain home with an amazing view! Thank you Bob for making our stay such a wonderful one. The house had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed white water rafting, waterfalls, hikes and shopping. Early morning coffee on the front porch with an breathtaking view.....It doesn't get much better than that!

We take a trip every year on this weekend for our anniversary. This was by far the most relaxing, enjoyable trip so far. We felt immediately right at home, and were able to enjoy our weekend from the very first minute. The house is fantastic.... part rustic cabin (but with all the amenities you could want), part cultural museum, part eclectic bookstore. And it's hard to imagine that there are any better views than the ones from the this place. Bob went above and beyond what you would expect to make sure that we felt right at home. He provides a wealth of information to make your stay at the house and the surrounding area the most enjoyable possible. We can't wait to come back !!!

Fantastic Getaway

We had a great time and very enjoyable/relaxing stay at this fantastic vacation rental. Bob was a great host and was extremely helpful in every way. We've booked several places through VRBO and have never had a better host. The property was absolutely beautiful with spectacular views. It also had everything we could possibly need. It's located close to everything we wanted to do...hiking, shopping, antiques, etc. We ended up cooking and eating our dinners at the house each night and relaxing in front of the fire. In the mornings we enjoyed coffee on their great wrap around porch. It was hard leaving such a nice, quiet place in the mountains to come back to Atlanta. Thanks again!

Peaceful getaway for a group

This house is fantastic. We went with two other couples and spent the weekend cooking, playing board games on the porch and driving into Highlands to eat and shop. We actually cancelled dinner reservations in town one night because we didn't want to leave the house! It's very secluded and quiet, with sweeping views. The house has a charming, lived-in quality that makes it feel like a friend's. Plus, Bob is an excellent host and even called to make sure we made it up the mountain at night! Definitely a departure from boring rentals with no personality.
