When hosts Holly Berry and Rob Denton first saw this secluded cove they realized they had finally found the perfect natural setting to host a myriad of gatherings and memorable moments. They worked to add comforts and amenities that are in harmony with the countryside surroundings, that create a haven for people seeking solace and tranquility. Come laugh and mingle under the stars and dance alongside the sparks of a crackling camp fire at Brahma Ridge.
Rob Denton & Holly Berry purchased this house in 2005
Only twenty minutes from all the downtown Asheville happenings yet this property feels so secluded.
The house received its name, Earthberm House, due to its construction - built into the side of the mountain. The all-on-one level is very comfortable for wheelchair guests.
Four-person hot tub outdoors under the stars!
A whole house filter on the well purifies all water coming into the home.
Great little house in the mountains, nice view, close to Asheville (15 min or so). The hosts are really nice and run a wedding venue in the valley. Plenty of space to sleep and plenty of space for hanging out. Would love to stay here again :)
Our wedding utilized all three cabins that Brahma Ridge has to offer. They were exactly what we were looking for--close to Asheville but still tucked quietly away from the hustle and bustle and much more homely and relaxing than staying in a generic hotel. With multiple cabins spread across the venue, the capability of having immediate family members stay on site during the wedding festivities was truly a great way to come together as one and we thoroughly recommend Brahma Ridge as the perfect venue for the outdoorsy couple. Holly and Rob do an amazing job at making guests feel right at home.
Earthenberm has an amazing view! Have to say I kinda regret not having our Rehearsal dinner here. It was so beautiful and very high. Even though this house was not quite as close to the other two, it was very large with multiple rooms and areas to congregate. Perfect for groups where you might have conflicting early risers and night owls. Oh! And you’re gonna appreciate that hot tub after a long day.
My now-husband and I stayed at Earthberm with our wedding party for our wedding weekend and it was exactly what we were looking for! Gorgeous mountain views, comfortable beds, nice kitchen, plenty of space to sleep all our friends. We had 13 people sleep here happily (making use of the pullout couch and some air mattresses) but this would comfortably sleep 8 people in real beds and 10 with the pullout couch. Beautiful, serene, peaceful, this house is an oasis in the mountains. Holly and Rob (the owners) are so great - helpful and non-obtrusive, knowledgeable and experienced but laid back. If you are going for a weekend trip to Asheville, this is not too far away (15-20 minutes to the heart of downtown) and would be absolutely perfect if you're looking for a mountain retreat! Was perfect for our wedding and would be a great house for a family to rent for a fun Western North Carolina vacation!
Our stay at the Earthberm house was beyond wonderful! The views were breathtaking, and the rental had everything we could have needed or wanted. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law and her friend were hit by a bicyclist on the Blue Ridge Parkway on our second day there and had to be admitted to the hospital. Holly and Rob made the event much less stressful by letting us stay two extra unplanned days, and even giving us a discount. I cannot even begin to explain how kind and accomodating they were to us during our time of need. Thanks again Rob and Holly! :)
Our experience could not have been better! Seven of us girls drove up from all over the east coat for a bachelorette weekend. When we arrived the hot tub over looking the beautiful mountains was already turned on, and the house was beautiful! It couldn't have made a better setting for long breakfasts at the table surrounded by windows that overlooks the mountains,. We roasted marshmallows in the fire pit, soaked in the hot tub, painted overlooking the view, and simply enjoyed each other in this magical place. This home has a lovely way of creating a feeling of being outside while in the living room due to the large windows, while still feeling cozy. The owners are so very helpful and kind. We hope to make this a yearly tradition!
We enjoyed our stay at this tucked away place in Candler, just outside of Asheville. Since I received a call to tell us of impending snowfall, we were able to bring in plenty of firewood to enjoy a day inside. The mountain view is beautiful.
The place was clean and allowed for privacy for multiple vacationers. Pretty well stocked in the kitchen as well.
Suggestions would be a stool or steps that face the hot tub. The step stool was a bit difficult to use, and very cold on the feet. Also, for those snowy days, instructions on using the DVD player in the living room.
Had a great time enjoying this place.
