You have found it, KONA Condo: Luxurious, panoramic 180 degree view of breathtaking ocean and sunsets from your large 200 sq. ft. lanai; Romantic, totally private, 30 feet to the water. When you walk in, all you see is ocean, and when you sleep in the master bedroom, all you hear are the sounds of crashing surf. This place is not for those who are bothered by the sound of the ocean. Living room and master bedroom have Floor to Ceiling glass sliding doors (with screens) across the water. VIEWS FROM EVERY ROOM. Fully equipped kitchen, Washer/Dryer, WiFi, 2 cable TVs, CD player, Ceiling Fans, library of Hawaiian books, VCR and DVD with movies for your use, Tiled floors including lanai, tropical furnishings, tide pools, sea turtles live on property, best surfing beach on the island, Pool, Jacuzzi, Free Parking, only 3 miles from town, in a private quiet location. About Gayle and Bill Smith (owners)

We have been married 40+ years and have loved Kona since we first traveled there in the 70's. We love lava rock, huge waves, watching surfers, and being close to the ocean. This building was as close as one could get! We'd love to share our place with you. For those wanting a month in Southern California, check out our VRBO 375793 in Oceanside.

Why Gayle and Bill Smith (owners) chose Kailua Kona

This building was built in the 70's before anyone worried about building so close to the ocean waves. Consequently, you feel like you are almost in the water. The master bedroom is oceanfront, and the waves lull you to sleep at night. The lanai is HUGE, 200 sq. ft. across, offering panoramic views. I rented here before purchasing and fell in love! You will too.

What makes this condo unique

Proximity to ocean, sea turtles who live right below us, on property and are there 24/7 year round. Amazing sunsets year round, and wonderful tide pools out back at low tide.

Close to town, yet private and quiet..........farmer's markets nearby, arts and crafts, supermarkets (2 miles), small beach on property, best surfing beach as well...........turtles right on site, 365 days per year! Small deli and surf shop on property. You can't get any closer to the ocean, than this unit.

Therefore my cancellation policy is to refund all nights that I can rebook minus an admin fee($100). You may want to consider trip insurance, if you are concerned about an illness or special circumstance.
    Rates are for party of 2 persons, using one bedroom; add $10 for each additional persons.
    Deposit for blocking your nights; final payment due 60 days before arrival (seasonal).

Spectacular Views, and Great Place!

We have stayed on all the islands, and this one was the most beautiful, best location, with everything and more that a guest could ask for. Attention to detail, owners are very helpful and friendly. This unit is updated, furnished beautifully, quiet location yet close to everything, we can't say more. We had the time of our life and plan to be back to see the turtles, sunsets and relax again, in this "home away from home". It's a very special place.

We booked Gayle's oceanfront condo in Kona sight unseen - this being our first trip to the Big Island. The spacious and well appointed unit faces the ocean and offers a large lanai with plenty of room to stretch out. We found ourselves sitting there every chance we got watching the ever changing surf. In this part of Kona, the coastline is largely old lava flows but this particular development has a small white sand beach (and sea turtles too). Perhaps our favorite part of our experience was the sound of the surf 24/7. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful time with the family

Loved our stay here. It was so relaxing and right on the ocean. The view was amazing; waves, surfers, turtles, sunsets. We cooked quite a bit and ate on the Lanai which made our trip much more affordable. The Poke Shack Deli is right down stairs with delicious fresh fish (poke). The Condo was clean and delightful, the transaction with the owner was easy and stress free. The condo is close to town. We walked there a few times for exercise. Bongo Ben's restaurant down town had great food.

Great time with the family

Wonderful place, definitely a home away from home (but better). The transaction was easy with Gayle and stress free. Right on the beech, a stones throw away. The view amazing; waves, surfers, turtles, sunsets. Close to town, we walked there a few times for exercise. Poke Shack is a restaurant connected to the condo with the best fresh fish (Poke). Rental car is advised, however the bus does stop at this condo if you can figure out the bus system in Kona. The condo is clean and well taken care of. Bongo Bens down town had awesome food. We want to come back for sure.

What a perfect spot this condo is located in; peace and quiet, proximity to the ocean, lovely interior that is Hawaiian in feeling with all the conveniences of home. We particularly loved the sunsets, watching the surfers, and enjoying the tidepools out back, filled with interesting sea life, as well as the enchanting endangered sea turtles. The owners have decorated the unit with the sea turtle theme, and from the paintings, photos, books, to the painted tiles on the floor, it's a sense of caring that went into the decor of this unit. Furniture is very clean, washer dryer in the unit is convenient, cooler for the beach, coffee grinder and spices for cooking complete the picture of a well thought out owner who cares about guests. We would recommend this property this property to friends and family, and plan to return ourselves. Between shopping at Costco and the nearby Safeway Marketplace, it was so easy to eat some of our meals in. Of course the Kona Inn downtown is excellent in setting and location for a special meal. Thank you to the owners.
