Brant Point Vacation Rental cottage

We stayed for 10 days in October (after the "season" and it was a great little place to stay in. The kitchen was ample for cooking for the 2 of us and while we'd brought our own knives, the one's in the kitchen were quite sharp (not always the case). We cooked most nights and even a few lunches. Since the weather was cool we had 2 space heaters that warmed up the cottage nicely and made it very comfortable, even on the extremely windy days we had during our stay. It was clean, well maintained and the owner was very pleasant to deal with, even giving us details on where to shop for food. It was a short walk to town so we only rented a car for one day when we wandered all over the island (and after the "season" public transportation is harder to come by). It was also nice to have TV's with DVD players so we could bring along a few things we wanted to catch up on. Lighting was good and easy to read by. The bathroom, while small, was clean and comfortable and it's the first place I've ever seen a toilet made for a corner (the tank was triangular). It was great to have laundry facilities so we could travel with less luggage. All in house it was clean, tidy and well appointed cottage.

The only minor downside is the Brant Point is below sea level so when the high tide is in and it's rainy, the streets get flooded. So if you're coming during the rainy season, be sure to have shoes that you're not worried about getting wet - especially if you're walking into town (there are several places the streets flood). That's not a problem with the cottage, just an issue with that section of Nantucket but it's always better to be prepared.
