Cancion del Mar - 'Song of the Sea' is a beautiful villa located on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Sayulita, Mexico. Expansive 360 degree views of lush jungles and the beautiful Pacific Ocean speak to you in a slow, rhythmic, ancient voice. Cancion Del Mar has large open living and dining areas with an infinity pool and incredible views. A large kitchen, 3 1/2 baths, and 4 air conditioned bedrooms (one with a loft), all in a tranquil, authentic old Mexican fishing and surfing village! Cancion del Mar also affords you the most incredible birding opportunities, viewing a wide variety of birds right outside the villa! La Casita is a beautiful villa on the same property (but with privacy from the larger villa). La Casita has two king bedrooms, as well as room to sleep two additional people. There is a kitchen and an open palapa with living & dining space. There is also a brand new built in pool. The villas can be rented separately or together.

This town has it all from restaurants, to shopping, to fishing, hiking, surfing, music, bicycling and kayaking to name just a few activities. Puerto Vallarta is near enough to visit the clubs and even go para sailing. Sayulita is charming and more slow paced than Puerto Vallarta. It's your choice if you want to lay on the beach or surf or fish or hike, it's all right here in Sayulita. There are also a number of internet cafes so you can keep up with the rest of the world, if you would like. Don't forget you can go horseback riding, whale watching, swimming and golfing too. Sayulita has it all!

The sofas on the patios/palapa are truly coveted places to sleep. You will be lulled to sleep by the rhythmic songs of the ocean below. Notes: Due to the balconies and the negative edge pools, the villas are not suitable for children under the age of five. It is strongly recommended that you rent a vehicle in Puerto Vallarta and drive into Sayulita. You can also take the bus from Puerto Vallarta and rent a car in Sayulita. Make sure to make your arrangements ahead of time. You will meet our property manager and he will take you up to the villa(s) and show you around. It is only a fifteen minute walk from the villa(s) to the beach and town. Going is easy, it's all downhill, but coming home it's a climb - meant for the athletic at heart. You just might want to take the car. You will find birding books for your enjoyment as well as suggestions for local activities in the villas. Don't forget to bring binoculars to do some whale watching!

More Information on La Casita: La Casita is a smaller and new two bedroom villa on the same property as Cancion del Mar. The villas are separate enough so that if there are two separate rental parties, they will not bother each other. La Casita has a brand new built in pool for your enjoyment. With the two bedrooms and the sofas in the living area, you can easily sleep up to six people. There is a kitchen, dining area and living room, as well as an incredible palapa! La Casita is perfect for a small group or in addition to Cancion del Mar to help accommodate larger groups.

This is the first vacation I've ever taken that I didn't feel like I needed a vacation from my vacation! Cancion del Mar is fabulous!

The views an the privacy are incredible. Plus there was enough space to accommodate our large group. The villas were very clean and the caretakers were excellent.

Our booking went smoothly and the property manager and his wife did a great job!

We will go back for sure!

The scenery and atmosphere, the comfort of the home, the pool, the kitchen were all just incredible. The fact that there was plenty of space for everyone was great. The couple who took care of us are lovely folks who were very inobstrusive and helpful. The house is lovely and very well cared for and was super clean. The pre-trip communication was fantastic. We had a wonderful time and will go back!

Beautiful but Dangerous

Cancion Del Mar and La Cacita are beautiful. They are both well decorated and the views are amazing, especially from the top floor of a Cancion Del Mar.
The one thing I do want to emphazise is the fact that it's situated on the very top of a mountain, literally in the jungle, and there are three set of long steep, slippery stairs. There were scorpions in the shower, crabs, moths & bugs everywhere a light was on after dark, and the airconditioners in every room were loud. The view, cleanlyness, beauty and size of the house were the most redeeming qualities.
Owner's Response: Cancion del Mar & La Casita are up on Nanzal Hill, away from the dust and noise of the city below. This is why we have such incredible views! We do tell our guests that we are up on the hill (not mountain) and that a rental car is really strongly suggested. We make every effort to keep our villas clean and safe and we have never had any issues regarding this. It is also noted that we are in the jungle and that you should bring bug spray. Because of the early rains this year, scorpion and crab season has started early, and this affects everyone in Sayulita that has a villa near the jungle. The jungle views allow one to watch the most incredible animal life, from iguanas to a vast variety of birds, and then you turn and you are looking at the ocean in search for whales! This is pretty incredible!

Cancion del Mar and La Casita are privately owned villas. The whole idea of being in Sayulita is to enjoy the feel of old time Mexico. And being that our villas are in Mexico, we do our very best to keep everything in working order, and minimize any discomfort from the "creatures".

We are glad that you gave us a four star rating. We take great pride in Cancion del Mar and La Casita, but in no way would we ever say that it's "Beautiful and Dangerous". Any time one is using stairs, one should always be careful, especially if it has rained and the stairs are outside. So, yes, please do be careful on the stairs after a rain.
