I grew up in Connecticut and love to sail and spend summers near the water. I purchased Prickly Pear Cottage in 1984 and feel in love with Stonington and the surrounding area and you will, too. John and I live in Stonington in the summer and in Essex , CT in the winter months with our two boys.
Susan Senning purchased this house in 1984
Lord's Point is one of the few truly friendly family beach communities in the area. We have summer programs for all ages that are free of charge to our guests. Our community house, tennis court basketball court, bocci court and playground fields are safe and well maintained. People walk and bike to enjoy the several small beaches and docks on Lord's Point.
Our home is well equipped and comfortable. The area has so much to enjoy it's hard to know where to start!
Our local farmers market, Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, the beaches of Watch Hill, fine dining and shopping.
My boyfriend and I just spent a week in this cottage. It was so romantic and cozy -- I even lit the fireplace at night in the middle of July! The neighborhood is very charming and quiet, and there's a nice little pier at the end of the street where we brought a bottle of wine and enjoyed the sunsets. All in all, a terrific place to spend your vacation.
We had a wonderful stay at the Lord's point cottage. It was cozy but there was still enough room to accommodate the two of us and our two teenagers. Kitchen was well equipped so that we could BBQ and not have to spend our vacation eating out out the time. It is a nice quiet beach community and short drive to Mystic and Rhode Island beaches. Nice area for bicycling too.
Safe shoreline beach community 2 miles from Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, outlet shopping. 20 minutes to Casinos or Misquamicut Beach or Watch Hill beaches.
Lord's Point has docks, a tennis court and several small sandy beaches that are maintained daily as well as two swim areas with floats..
Kayak launch area with wonderful coves to explore in protected waters.
