One of a kind best describes the “Helton Chicken Coop”. This new one bedroom one bath cabin sits on the banks of the renowned Helton Creek. “Helton Creekside” is the perfect true mountain getaway. This cabin is perfect for the honeymooners or a small family wanting to trout fish and play in a cool mountain stream. Our sofa doubles as an additional queen sleeper. The back deck has a covered tin roof to enjoy those cool mountain showers. In the open area of the deck, you will enjoy soaking in the hot tub complete with privacy screens. Our kitchen is small but well stocked. You will be able to handle any of your cooking needs. There is a convection oven/microwave, refrigerator, pots and pans, and all necessary items. You can dine inside at the two person table or choose to eat streamside on the back deck and take in the sights and sounds of Helton Creek. Helton Creekside is a pet friendly home allowing small pets. The deck is enclosed and also includes a doggy door.

If you are a fisherman or woman, Helton Creek is one of a kind. During the winter, it is strictly catch and release. During the summer months, you can keep what you catch and put them on the grill on the back porch. Helton Creekside is close to the Grayson Highlands park system in Virginia. This park offers miles of hiking or biking trails. The world famous New River offers small mouth bass fishing as well as canoeing. For the skiing enthusiast, nearby Banner Elk and Beech Mountain offer all of the winter sports. Downtown West Jefferson is quickly becoming a destination for tourist visiting our many art galleries and restaurants. A good first stop would be the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce.
