Located in Murphy NC, just 10 minutes from Downtown Murphy in a peaceful and tranquil setting, this beautiful real log cabin has a hot tub, internet, air Hockey, BBQ grill, huge covered deck area, spacious loft area, fully equipped kitchen with all the necessities to prepare all the daily meals, private bathroom for the master bedroom, beautiful real wood floors and cathedral ceilings, paved roads and easy access, fireplace, excellent setting in the NC mountains. Cabin is tastefully decorated with a huge loft area with an Amish made bunk bed and a sofa bed. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and the second bedroom has a queen sized bed. Comes with satellite TV with HBO included, boardgames, linens and towels are provided. Come enjoy this peaceful mountain area and yet still have the luxury of a modern home. Hot spa and pool table are new. The cabin sleeps 8, but it is perfect for 3 couples traveling together or for an extra spacious romantic get-away. We accept Visa & MC

Location: Murphy is a small mountain town snuggled into the rugged Nantahala National Forest in the southwest corner of North Carolina, and is the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and neighboring Pisgah National Forest. Murphy's spectacular, age-old, Appalachian setting provides gift shopping and an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern day life.

The cabin is located in the beautiful and romantic Arrowhead mountain, just 7 miles west of Downtown Murphy. The roads leading to the cabin are paved and well maintained. Easy access to the main highway. The parking is safe. The setting is peaceful and relaxing. you will enjoy the hot tub in a large deck surrounded by gorgeous woods and a great view. WiFi Inernet, Pool table available for late night entertainment along with board games and a BBQ grill. You will enjoy a peaceful setting with no neighbors and a hot tub that is operational 365 days a year.

Spacious living quarters: One of the things you will enjoy about this cabin is the spacious living areas. This 1500 sq feet cabin has an enormous loft area, all wood, with windows to the outside to enjoy the view. the loft area has an Amish made bunk-bed and a sofa bed to accommodate extra guests. The covered deck area has a hot tub to relax and enjoy nature at its finest. There is a gas BBQ. The rooms are comfortable with all the furniture needed for an extended stay. The beds are new and are super comfortable. Everything in the house is new.

Activities: The Smoky Mountains offers a wide range of activities. Whitewater rafting in the Ocoee (site of 1996 Olympics), just a short 15 minute drive, and enjoy the excitement of rafting class 3 and 4 rapids. The Nantahala river offers class 2 and 3 rapids. Ducktown canoeing is also a short 15 to 20 minute drive. The Smoky Mountain railroad offers great views of the Smokies. Rent a pontoon boat or Jet Skis in one of Western Carolina's beautiful lakes. Hike or mountain bike one of our many trails and enjoy nature. See the waterfalls of the Western Carolina. Enjoy a first class casino. Visit Chattanooga, TN, a short and lovely 85 minute drive. Golf the challenging and beautiful gold club in Murphy, a short 15 minute drive. The chamber of commerce in Murphy offers many brochures in order to plan your stay more effectively.

The cabin was beautiful and well maintaned. We had a very relaxing week. much needed. We did alot of sight seeing we also went to the mines and mined gems it was alot of fun . we walked alot around the cabin . the town of Murphy was very quaint. We are hoping to go back next year and stay longer. I loved the peace you feel on the mountain thank you Richard for letting us enjoy your cabin.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Relaxing Cabin indeed!

My family of 4 stayed for 5 days in this cabin and really had a relaxing time. The owner was helpful in giving directions but I would say be sure you bring a GPS with you to find other stores, such as Wal-Mart etc. The cabin was exactly as shown and described in the pictures. Cabin was clean as well. We actually got snowed in during our stay because the raods leading to the cabin were covered in ice and snow. When we contacted the department referred to us by the police department for clearing the roads, we were told that we were in a private subdivision therefore it was the responsibility of the owner to clear the streets. Luckily, after about 24 hours, a local plumber came up (making a trip to a different cabin) and he too was unable to get back down the mountain so he called in another local with a 4x4 and a bunch of salt for the roads, and were able to clear the road enough for us to leave. Other then that, we had an amazing trip. The little town of Murphy is very laid back and friendly. The area is NOT AT ALL a 'touristy' place but definitely a place to kick back and relax. We were surprised to find that when we got there, not only was there a pool table in the loft, but an air hockey table as well. They both were convenient for out family during our down time.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed the cabin and the area. BTW, the road leading to the cabin is paved, and well maintained. It has been a beyond normal winter as far as snow and cold. I know the residents of the mountain always have salt to clear the roads, and no one has ever stayed beyond their normal reservation because of snow. I recommend my tenants to call me for anything, and usually we can resolve all issues that might arise. Our main concern is that everyone that stays in the cabin enjoy themselves to the fullest.

A nice place to relax

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin and wished we had more time there. The description of the cabin was accurate and everything was well maintained. Owner was helpful in giving us directions. The only complaint that we have, is that the 65.00 clean up fee seemed a bit much. It was only my husband and I, and we were there for 2 days. Wouldn't seem so bad if we didn't have to take the sheets off of the bed, wash the dishes, and take out the trash. But, in fairness, that was mentioned in the initial contract. Other than that, the cabin is beautiful and I would recommend it to others, especially a family looking for a place to stay for a few days.

Away from it all

It was a great cabin, I stayed in it with my wife and 2 kids. They loved sleeping in the bunkbeds, and loved the pool table and air hockey table. I was able to follow my favorite HBO shows, relax in the hot tub and breath fresh mountain air.
Th owner emailed me a list of things to do, and I really appreciated that. We went to Chattannooga, Helen Ga, and rode the Mountain railroads. Also went horse back riding with the kids, and did a little white water rafting.

The cabin was clean, spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy a vacation. I called the owner several times, and he instructed ,me on how to use the fireplace, TV, and AC.

I highly recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away, it was special.

Had a good time, However....

My family and I had a wonderful time at the cabin; however, on our arrival, the cabin was not clean and there was dirty laundry on top and in the washer. The cleaning lady stopped, apologized, and promised that Richard would return part of the cleaning fee. That was 4 months ago. Not only have we not received the cleaning fee refund, we have not yet received our security deposit. Even though we enjoyed the cabin, we will not be returning. I have tried to contact him to no avail.
Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed the cabin. A check will be mailed, and I have offered the client on night free stay for her troubles. I now have a new assistant who is doing a great job.
