great place for family

We stayed here with 2 families, one with 4 teens, one with 2.
Palma Del Mar is a tropical paradise. We spent thanksgiving week and had the beach and the pool almost to ourselves. The community has a small town feeling and everyone is friendly.
This unit was acuratly described, althought the dishwasher was broken and no compensation was made. It is the outside limit for 10 to stay in this unit. The master suite had pullout couch wich made for little privacy and was not comfortable to boot. The only real negative about the property was the musty smell. Every cabinet and drawer had a smell like the place had been closed up for six months and then was unlocked the morning of our arrival. We have stayed in other tropical locations so we do understand the climate, this could have been fixed by all the doors being opened and the AC put on for 1 day prior to our arrival as the smell did decrease during our stay.
There are fabulous restaraunts; two of our favorites were Bohio Grill on the beach and Caracoles behind the tennis club, but we cannot forget the sushi at Blue Hawaiian and the wonderfull beef and seafood at La Brochette.
We saw the owner several times during our visit and he helped us to find our way.
The Golf cart is a neccesity, as it is a bit too far to walk to the beach and there is no car parking, it's alot of fun to zoom around in the cart anyways.
We drove to El Yunque rain forest which is deserving of a whole day and we spent one day at Loquillo beech which was not worth the drive.
We will be back to Palmas some time soon, not sure about this particular unit as it may not fit our needs precisely.
