Kaanapali Vacation Rental condo

This 3BR, 2.5 ba had more than enough space for our party (4 adults, 2 toddlers). We easily could have accomodated four more people. The place had everything we needed for an enjoyable vacation, HD tv, well stocked dvd/book library, plenty of beach items, including snorkels, children's life vests, beach towels and boogie boards, and spectacular ocean views. Furthermore, during the entire rental process the owner was very responsive to all my questions. I would definitely stay here again!

My two brothers, their families, my husband and I celebrated with our parents in Maui for their 40th anniversary and my dad's 70th bday. Condo had plenty room to spread. Safeway or Star market for groceries are easy access by car.We preferred DT Fleming beach more than the beach down the street or the Baby beach but beware of the waves that can throw you head forward into the sand at DT Fleming. It is gorgeous and the coral is not so close to shore. Couldn't find public access to Napili Bay. Nice A/C system in every room. Housewares, towels, and cleaning, laundry, dishwashing supplies were all stocked. The owner was accomodating and easily accessible, plus very kind. Non- beach people enjoyed the Maui Ocean Center, Atlantis submarine ride, watching the sunrise at Haleakala crater, taking a day trip to Honolulu to see Pearl Harbor, a luau, helicopter ride over Hana, and trekking the Iao Needle Valley State Park. We had leisure time playing the board games in the condo & swam in the pool. A plus was having a screen on the front door and the sliding door to let the breeze flow through the condo with the hint of floral scents in the air. Only problem, the sand is sticky compared to Florida sand, so it makes a mess when you think you've got it all off it appears from nowhere. There is a hose outside the front door, FYI. There are a lot of discount coupons in the travel magazines at the Kahlui airport.Be prepared when you eat out that Hawaii is on island time...there is no rush to herd you in and out. Relax and enjoy your meal. We got a CD of Israel Kamkawiwo'Ole and listened to that or to Hawaiian music on the radio as we drove around. I bought a book on our last day at the ABC store near Safeway about the history of Hawaii which I wish I had read on the first day. Reading the history and listening to the music you appreciate the culture and feel the aloha spirit even when you leave Maui. (Our GPS from home worked in our rental car. Hawaii local discount guide online helped us find a van to rent at a low rate. Traveling from island to island was cheapest to go through Mokulele Airlines, rather than standard travel websites, and flight was smooth. This condo was fantastic for us and this trip to Maui was the best family trip ever. There is so much more to do that we could not make time for. We enjoyed and budgetted well! We love Maui, Kaanapaali, and everything about it and can't wait to come back again.

This was our first trip to Maui and we found the condo to be in a great location. Not far from Lahaina where the majority of shopping and Front Street is located. Very quiet area and friendly people on the grounds. I went with 6 teenagers and they really enjoyed the pool and were able to walk to a good beach with nice snorkeling. We used the beach chairs supplied and the boogy boards. Kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans, dishes which was nice because we cooked all of our meals and ate out very little. When going grocery shopping, we found SafeWay as our choice of grocery. However, if you belong to Cotsco (similar to Sam's Club), there is one located right next to the airport. If you do go to Safeway, I recommend you go to the service counter and sign up for a FREE Safeway savers card. We saved over $50 each time we went - food is more expensive in Hawaii. All of the bedrooms have air conditioning. We did the Old Lahaina Luau - book it on-line to get seats, it fills up fast. The food was excellent and so was the entertainment. The city bus does not come as far as Puukolinii Road so a rental car is definately recommended.
