Quiet, cozy, and convenient

My wife and I stayed in this rental for 3 nights during the first week of May '09. After staying a few nights in downtown San Diego (fun), and a night in L.A., this place was an oasis of calm.
The unit has a nice living room area with full cable TV, DVD player, as well as a TV with VCR in the bedroom. If you like a soft bed like we do, the bed was heaven. The kitchen is small but very convenient and has everything you need to cook a meal. Everything was very clean upon arrival, and there were plenty of extra towels and linens.
It is located on a very quiet street, only 3 very short blocks to the beach - a nice place to watch the sun set over the Pacific. There were countless restaurants within walking distance on Pearl St and the streets that cross Pearl. We really enjoyed Sammy's Pizza, as well as The Cottage (outstanding, friendly service and great food).
There was no A/C, but I don't think anyone would miss it most times of the year, since the weather in La Jolla is pretty mild. I didn't need heat or A/C during the week of our visit, and I'm usually pretty warm-natured.
The unit faces a courtyard of similar units most of which I don't believe were vacation rentals, so the neighbors were very quiet...I actually barely noticed they were there. The rental was in an area that felt very safe, and we felt quite secure at night with the windows open - I can't even say that is true in my own home ;)
All in all, I would recommend this unit for it's location and quiet atmosphere...or just to decompress for a few days before flying home after surviving L.A. and San Diego.
