Located just 5 minutes from Boone, yet secluded and serene. Nearby attractions include Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, Mystery Hill, The Blowing Rock, Linville Caverns, Roan Mountain State Park and Appalachian State University.

DIRECTIONS:From highway 321 in Boone(Blowing Rock Rd.)turn onto Winklers Creek Rd. at Bojangles. Go 1 2/10 miles on Winklers Creek Rd.(watch road signs because Winkler's Creek Rd. makes an abrupt 90 degree turn) and turn left onto Rocky Creek Rd. Go one block and turn left onto Old Trillium Lane. Cabin is located at 203 Old Trillium Lane.

Only could squeeze in 2 nights in August. Too bad it was not more- a lot more!. Absolutely great place!! So convenient to town, yet so peaceful with an isolated feel. Have stayed at several places in area and this is ,by far, the best!! All the conveniences, a great bed and the BEST scenery possible. We will definitely get back as often as we can!!. Coolest Vacation ever!

We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to rent one. We enjoyed the hot tub in the rain and the snow which was just absolutely beautiful. We will have to come back in the summer so we can enjoy the creek to go swimming! The cabin has everything you need, was clean and comfortable and was close enough for shopping, dining and sightseeing.The description fits to a tee! The price was perfect. We were glad we found Dad's Place!!!!

Relaxing Creekside Cabin

My husband and I have been coming to Boone since 1991 when our son went off to college at Appalachian State and he has lived on Rocky Creek Road for the last 10 years but none of us knew about this treasure until this year! It was THE most peaceful, relaxing place to stay. My favorite thing to do was to take my morning coffee out and sit on the big rocks in the middle of the creek – a very meditative experience.

Would have loved to have had a king-sized bed but the queen was very comfortable. It definitely won’t keep us away – we’ll be baaaaaaack! :)

Great outside!

We really enjoyed the porches and the cabin being so close to the creek. Our dog really enjoyed his swims! Close to town yet private.

The hot tub water needed changing or the chemicals were too strong. The faucets in the bathrooms were difficult to turn on. The sofa, chair and bed were much too soft for our taste. (We both woke up with back ache every morning.)

The kitchen was nicely supplied, as was the linens.

My biggest complaint is the full size bed not queen bed! Everything else about the place was great! We were far enough away from everyone and everything to make you feel like you have gotten away!
