This perfect location has it all! Ski to within 113 steps of your door, use the free private shuttle to get around town, enjoy the heated outdoor pool, relax in one of the 2 outdoor hot tubs, enjoy the warmth of the large new co-ed sauna, get a work out in the fitness center, take advantage of the one of the clubhouse lounges or game areas, shoot a game of pool, or utilize the business center. In the unit and throughout the location, you can cruise the internet via a secure ultra high speed wireless -our location has 50 megs/second to each unit! Its very fast internet and very capable of streaming video. In the condo, you'll be very comfy relaxing on the leather furniture set, especially with a warm fire surrounded by natural rock. The 47 Inch, Sharp Aquos Smart HDTV (more on this later) with DVR, Blu Ray with WiFi and Surround Sound Theater System is ideal for movies, sports, or watching your video from a day on the mountain. It has a smartphone/ipod earphone cable connection, so it is also great for playing your favorite music! After a long day out exploring our area or our slopes, the full kitchen, bar, & dining area is a great place to prepare a meal. Stainless Steel Appliances are featured, but the cabinets also hide a full assortment of dishes & glassware, as well as a nice selection of essentials like sugar, spices, oils, teas, and other basics. At the end of the day, you'll lay down in high quality linens & comforters selected for warmth & comfort - you'll be asleep in no time and wake up refreshed!
I have converted the HEATED garage into a Game Room. It has a 3 in 1 Pool / Air Hockey / Ping Pong table. There is also a Phoose Ball Table, a Dart board a 35 Inch wall mounted TV with cable, as well as sleds, river tubes, pool floats and a ski tuning table. This is a great bonus space for all to enjoy as well as a convenient heated space for storing your skis & boards.
When I lived in the property for a year, I loved how accessible the condominium is to skiing in the winter. I would laugh as I walked to the Gondola in about 2 minutes, while others in the complex waited for the free shuttle pick them up at their front door. The whole mountain village is within easy and fun walking distance. There is even a great Southwestern Restaurant called La Montana and a small grocery/liquor & wine store called The Wild Plum right next door to The Phoenix condos.
Of course, with small kids, the shuttle to the Gondola is a convenient amenity. Leave your car at home! The private shuttle in winter (as well as the city shuttle year round) will get you anywhere in town quickly and for free.
At the end of the ski day, or for lunch, you can ski to within 113 steps of the back door or garage. That's steps, not yards. Really! I counted many times and this was the average! Getting home is very convenient and easy! I still park at The Phoenix when I hit the slopes myself, one of the perks of ownership...
In the summer, the condominium stays pretty cool on its own, but as of 2011 the cool temperature is guaranteed by my brand new Air Conditioning units & new windows. There is a great flat area right out back with trees, grass, and a picnic table. I have a Gas and a Charcoal grill, so plan to BBQ. The hiking and mountain biking trails on the lower mountain are easy to access, and with the new heated Promenade wrapping around the base, you can easily walk, year round, to all of the shopping & dining options in the Mountain Village / Base Area!
I have tried hard to maintain the property at a high quality level, and constantly improve the property:
Fall 2014 - New HDTVs for the Bedrooms, New Towels, Upgraded Gas Grill
Fall 2013 - Added a Phoose Ball Table to the Game Room and new comforters to the bunk room.
Spring 2013 - Extensive Remodel: New Mattresses throughout! Granite slab counters in kitchen, including the back-splash & a waterfall panel to cap the peninsula, a new undermounted stainless steel sink & Moen faucet, new maple kitchen cabinets & drawers with soft close technology, new floors throughout the living room, dining room, kitchen & hallways, a new front loading washer & dryer, new paint, updated electrical switches, plugs, phone & ethernet outlets. We even built custom baseboard heaters that match the cabinets!
Fall 2012 - New Comforters, pillows, & linens for bedroom # 2. New full size ping pong table top for the game room.
Fall 2011 - Blu Ray with WiFi for streaming movies & video from the internet and a DVR for recording games, shows, & movies while you're out enjoying Steamboat.
Summer 2011 - 47' Internet Connected Sharp Aquos 1080p HDTV with matching HD Signal & Digital Channel lineup including HBO. Also, a Complete Exterior Building Renovation, including Air Conditioning, New Windows & Doors, Siding & Stairwells.
Summer 2011 - $4 Million Exterior Renovation at The Phoenix. The place is looking sharp! During the renovation, I added Air Conditioning to the unit.
Fall 2010 - New Bedding & Linens for both Bedrooms.
December 2009 - Garage converted into a Game Room. It is heated, carpeted, with a Pool/Air Hockey/Ping Pong Table, Darts, Ski Tuning Table, Cable TV, even Sleds for winter guests, River Tubes for Summer guests, a Christmas tree for holiday guests, and pool floats too.
Fall 2009 - Kitchen Bar Lighting replaced, and a dimmer switch was added. I also have new high end linens for the master bedroom.
Fall 2008 - New Leather Living Room furniture set.
Spring 2008 - The bathrooms were re-done with new larger mirrors, brushed nickel fixtures & lighting.
Fall 2007 - New Kitchen appliances, new carpet & slate tile, new tile in bathrooms. I also replaced all bedding, sheets, & towels with higher quality items than the average condo.
Renting from a management company is no fun. They can't & won't guarantee a particular unit, much less the quality of the unit, or the bedding setup. I'll match or beat their rates in most cases - giving you the BEST for LESS.
