New Mexican Enchantment

This was the third time we have stayed at this lovely old adobe house, as we enjoy it so much. The many artistic touches, eclectic furniture, modern appliances, all combined with the the original walls and ceilings is very unique. The house is always clean, and we sleep wonderfully well on the comfortable bed. Each time we have visited, it has been in winter, with just peeks of spring coming in. Yet, on a sunny day, it is still lovely to sit outside in the sun. The short walk to the old plaza is wonderful, and even in winter there is a farmers market, though not with fresh produce in January. We enjoy day trips around the Las Cruces vicinity for widely diverse sightseeing, including hiking, museums, ghost towns, old Spanish Missions, while taking many pictures as we go. In the evening, we sit in the study and upload and look at the day's photos. The pellet stove is so cozy, and there is nothing like being curled up with a good book and a nice fire on a chilly night after a day full of activities.
Ouida is a lovely person, and is always available for help and information, and keeps us well stocked with pellets. Love going to Andele's for New Mexican food, and St. Claire's Winery, both on her recommendation.
All in all, we cannot think of a more lovely location to use as a home base for our roaming in southern New Mexico.

Owner's Response: My goodness, this is heartening to read from my repeat guests from Wisconsin. I always enjoy having them back and only wish they could see the roses in the garden in the spring. I'll have to send a picture. Thanks very much, Ouida
