This delightful, SECOND STORY, NO-SMOKING studio is designed to ensure your comfort and privacy. We are available to greet our guests and attend to their needs. Pelican suite accommodates a family of four (NO MORE ALLOWED!), with one queen bed and two comfortable foam floor mattresses. The large, one-room studio has sitting and dining areas, a charming bath and full kitchen decorated with Mexican Talavera tile. All linens, cookware, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishes, eating utensils, and more are provided. The private entrance leads in from an off-street parking area through a courtyard and up a tiled staircase to the suite and a stunning view out over the Sea of Cortez from the private veranda. This is a perfect place for a romantic getaway for two, or for a small family to relax and play on one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. Come share our paradise!
Peaceful and private!: The Pelican is extremely popular with renters because of it's privacy and the stunning view out over the Sea of Cortez. The private veranda has a palapa roof, cushioned chaises lounges, and table and chairs for outdoor dining. The tiled sidebar is great for mixing drinks or grilling on the electric grill provided.
Appropriate for four: Couples love it, and it is also great for a family of four. There is a queen bed and comfortable, thick foam flour mattresses, with linens, for floor sleeping. In the spring and fall, many choose to sleep out on the veranda on the comfy, padded chaise lounges.
Cooks love it: The full kitchen makes it great for those who love to cook and entertain. There is sufficient tableware for inviting friends over for drinks or dinner.
We retired to Kino, bought and renovated this old house for ourselves, and added a couple of guest apartments for family and friends. Well, guess what? Family and friends don't come all the time, so se started renting. We refer to ourselves as the accidental innkeepers!
On my. Let me count the whys! Well, it's on the most beautiful beach! It's quiet, and peaceful. During an early morning beach walk, you might meet one or two other people – but not always! We always wanted to live by the sea but never dreamed it would be possible. Now we wake up every day and feel gratitude for our good fortune. Also, it's not too far to drive back to the U.S. to see family — or for them to come see us.
Sunsets, great seafood, our organic garden, Kino folks, Mexican culture...it's tough to beat!
Kino Bay is a delightful combination of tropical beach environment with nearby desert and mountain views. The village of Kino Viejo is a small, vibrant community wish lots of local fishing and wonderful small restaurants. People are known for their friendliness. This is not a place for disco dancing; the atmosphere is relaxed and lends itself best to hiking, walks on the beach, fishing and swimming, reading and relaxing. It's perfect for families, artists and writers, nature lovers, and people who like to experience Mexican culture and have a good time! Local vendors feature everything from collector quality Seri baskets to ironwood carvings, colorful ceramics, handmade hammocks, and jewelry. The food is excellent, especially seafood. Casa Tortuga is within walking distance of some very good restaurants, and we are surrounded by friendly neighbors.
