This is a dream cottage on the shore of Cobbetts Pond. Only 35 miles north of Boston, it's the perfect place to enjoy New England. Built with an open concept, it has a huge open great room encompassing the kitchen, living room and dining area. The view of the lake is spectacular! We have a private swimming area right off the patio and dock with a raft a short swim away. Very comfortable on those hot days with excellent ventilation from ceiling fans and skylights. A ramp leading to the entrance and large shower with built in seats make living easier for the elderly or physically challenged. Beautiful wood floors and pine walls and ceiling truly add to the experience of 'camping'. Step through the french doors onto a 10 by 30 ft elevated deck and take in the panorama and enjoy the sun. Canoe is available for exploring the lake or for fishing. Cobbetts has bass perch, pickeral and trout. Cable TV and wireless Internet available. No through traffic!

Centrally located: Easy day trips to the ocean or to the mountains - especially during leaf peeping season! So, whether you are into outdoor recreation, quiet relaxation, or an explorer, you can join the history of this vintage cottage, which was built at the beginning of the era of camping in New Hampshire.

My and I family stayed at this cottage and absolutely loved it. We had a perfect week, even the weather was perfect. The cottage was very clean and we loved the open layout and enjoyed the large wrap-around deck. I highly recommend it!

This is a dream-come-true cottage in which my wife and I got married!! Absolutely the perfect spot for a wedding, we had thirty guests and everyone had plenty of room. The views are breathtaking, the guests enjoyed swimming, fishing, and canoeing. This is the place you want to be......not one bad word about it. Oh, but can you not reserve June 19th? My wife and I hope to go back every year on our anniversary!!! Again, we both agree that this was a dream-come-true place that fulfilled all our dreams!

Great lakeside vacation

It's April and we can't wait to get there. This will be our third year at the green cottage with our two grandsons now 13 and 17. Watching the boys enjoy waterskiing and tubing on the lake, the excellent fishing right from the dock and the sunset cruises on our 19 ft. boat docked just outside the door are my favorite memories. The cottage is very clean and has everything we need but steaks for the grill and McKinnon's Meat Market is 5-20 minutes by car. We all go up to the park afternoons to shoot hoops, and walk. Our 13-year-old brings his skateboard for their excellent board park just a few minutes up the road. No one is ever ready to go home at the end. This is a beautiful, quiet, family place just perfect for making lifelong memories.

What a Surprise!

My husband booked the holiday to celebrate my 60th birthday as I had always wanted to go to New England. We arrived in late October 2007 and had a fabulous week - the cottage was perfect and we covered quite a few miles during our time there. Windham is a little town with some great restuarants.
The 'pond' is something we English have in our garden so to see one 2 miles long with a seaplane landing was something else!
Cannot recommend this highly enough.

We rented all three houses for the weekend and had a wonderful time. All three houses were beautiful, but our favorite was the one in the picture above. Beautiful updates and a surprising amount of space, especially for lake houses. The only thing that could have improved our stay would have been better weather.
