Boating Life Magazine referred to renting a home in the New Tazewell area 'a great call' because the relatively rustic Norris is separated from the busier Norris. The purity of Lone Mountain Shores will truly have you slowing down to enjoy life. You are only steps away from the private dock to experience the best of Norris.
Whether you golf (Championship Woodlake Golf Course just a few miles away!), ski, tube, wakeboard, fish, or simply like to float in the pristine waters, Norris Lake and Lone Mountain Shores is truly a one of a kind beauty!

Originally from Springboro, Ohio we recently relocated to Lake Mary Florida.. . With 3 kids in activities we don't make it down to the lake as much as we would like, but it certainly makes us appreciate our time on the lake.

This property is only steps from the water and your private dock. The remote, rustic feel of this area, combined with the modern amenities this home provides will make you appreciate the unique setting & experience this home delivers! With repeat guests coming back year after year, we truly are blessed to have such a beautiful property to share. Having vacationed on the other side of Norris for years, Lone Mountain Shores is truly in a category on it's own. Minutes from Bubba Brews, Norris Lakes LARGEST on water eatery / bar and also right around the corner from the newest marina, Norris Landing the access and options are vast for fueling up, grabbing a bite to eat or simply picking up snacks / renting boats & watercraft! If you want to play golf, Lone Mountain Shores is only 2 miles from one Woodlake Golf Club, cited as one of the best new courses in 2000!
1 - Private dock in your backyard that can hold 3 boats
2 - home is perfect for multiple families with separate sleeping areas
3 - low boat traffic makes it safter for kids recreational activities on the water
4 - one of the cleanest lakes in the region
5 - Bubba Brews Sports Bar (largest on Norris Lake) is 20 minutes by boat away - but also close to 4 other marinas.
5- hot tub & fire pit overlooking lake. Gentle stais to dock.
This was a great house in spite of the stairs to the dock. I would suggest putting a railing up one side. We have stayed at many vacation rentals and I must say the owners of this property stock so many extras that I have not seen at other houses such as, first aid supplies, extra batteries, extra toiletries, very thoughtful. I will say to future guests if you are bringing a boat it would be better to put in at Jimmy's Place which by the way has great catfish. If you have people in your party that can not walk well pick them up at the neighborhood access dock # 1 easy walk with a railing. The lake is beautiful and we had a very restful vacation for a change instead of visiting an area and doing so much sightseeing we hardly enjoyed the property or got any rest. 3 generations and 2 old doggies.
We had a spectacular family vacation in this property. Very clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. The private dock, hot tub and 5 bdrms were ideal for both families. Weather was great and we basically had the entire lake to ourselves......we will def be coming back. Owners were very attentive and responded quickly when we had a small problem w the grill.
I stayed here with a friend recently and we were both very impressed with the quality and setting of the home. It was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The lake level was extremely low given the time of year (October), but it was still beautiful to view.
We spent most of our time in the great room in the twin leather recliners: reading, talking, watching TV (satellite), or playing games (provided). One note on the TV, the remotes were very confusing to operate and we couldn't get them to work properly the whole time (weren't able to turn TV on/off by remote or get the input for the DVD player to work).
The house was clean and for the most part, very well maintained. There was an issue with the downstairs master bath door not closing fully and the drain in that bathtub not working, but those issues were reported and I'm sure are/will be fixed.
As a word to the wise, this property is pretty much at the end of a series of lots of small, windy roads off the main road. It takes ~30 minutes to get here from the main road so plan on buying/bringing all your food and anything else you might need before you turn off the main road. Also, I would not want to drive those roads in snow/ice without a 4-wheel drive truck.
The property is fairly secluded and private. There is one other house very close on one side and one night we heard dogs barking nearby, but overall very quiet setting. The house is very large with 3 total levels so would be great for multiple couples/families.
The nightly rate was reasonable for the size of the property and time of year, but there was an additional cleaning fee and security deposit, which were both rather high. I had to contact the owner multiple times after our stay about getting my deposit back and finally received it a month later (in full).
Wonderful place to stay. The lake is beautiful and the home is very nice. Perfect for our family getaway. Looking forward to staying next year with our friends.
We loved the peace and quiet, the weather was beautiful and since it was Spring we got great views of the Lake from the house. It was beautiful, very clean and very comfortable .We had cell phone service also WI FI.The rental price was the best in that area.
By far one of the most relxaxing vacations i have had. The house is perfectly situated where you feel like you have your own little corner of the world. The dock is just a short walk down the steps and we were able to keep the boat withus the entire weekend. My only recommendation to people towing a boat in is to drop off the boat at Lone Mountain Boat Dock, which is real close to the highway. This limits the use of the boat trailer brakes and car brakes on the up/down hills to get to the property.
We had a great time and I highly recommend. We will definitely be staying again next year!
