Come back to the beach at night to take in the Beautiful Ocean Sunset, which is not a common site if you are from the East Coast…..but because of the way Cape Cod curls around at its elbow as it heads towards the tip of the Cape….. the Bay side begins to face towards the West and you get to experience one of the many simple, magical pleasures of “Old Cape Cod.”
Local Restaurants:
Stop in any morning 2 minutes down the road to ''The Hole in One'' donut shop on Rte 6 and get yourself a delicious cup of coffee or tea and/or a ''taste bud screaming'' homemade donut or muffin.
There are many fine local Restaurants as well, The ''Lobster Pool'' which has great lobster and seafood, The ''Friendly Fisherman'' known and voted for the best lobster roll on the Cape, The ''Fairway Restaurant'', which has a good combination of all foods especially their creative pizzas and last but certainly not least 'Arnolds Restaurant' Right on Rte. 6 and the Rail [bike] Trail it is a cafeteria style restaurant that serves beer and wine and has a walk-up window for ice-cream. All of these establishments offer different atmospheres and dining experiences.
Cape Cod National Seashore :
The Cape Cod National Seashore was created in the 1960s to protect the sheltering dunes and beautiful coastline. Eastham has two ocean-side beaches on the National Seashore: Coast Guard Beach, which was rated one of the top 10 beaches in the Nation, and Nauset Light Beach. Both beaches mark the beginning of 30 miles of shoreline stretching all the way to Provincetown.
The red and white Nauset Lighthouse is said to be the most photographed site on Cape Cod.
