Our vacation at the Sand Piper

My family and I spent a wonderful week at the Sand Piper in Corrola, NC. The house was immaculately clean on our arrival and was extremely comfortable for my husband and I, our twin 17 year old sons and another 25 year old friend. The layout was perfect, since it afforded alot of space to get away from each other when we wanted to, or to be together to watch a movie or play a game. The furnishings are new, bright and very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were very well maintained and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The owner had a nice selection of DVD's that we enjoyed throughout the week. We used the charcoal grill outside to prepare several meals. The two decks and pool area were great for just relaxing and reading. The walk to the beach was about 5 blocks, which wasn't bad, but if you have a wagon (for children) or bikes that you could bring with you, you'd probably be glad you did. We entered the beach at the "Q" access which was a great area of beach. Guarded by life guards... beautiful sand... great waves...lots of fun! The outside shower at the house was great to spray off with before going into the house or the pool. The washer and dryer were great and allowed us to pack very lightly for the week. We grocery shopped at the FOOD LION, which is only a couple miles up the road -- nice store with good prices. Our family enjoyed a couple of evenings shopping/ playing miniature golf up at Tim Buck II, which was also very close. Lots of restaurants close by... although we didn't eat out much. We took our boys to Duck to jet ski for an hour session and they loved it! We had taken them parasailing from there on our last trip and that was awesome too! We also spent one day and drove all the way down the coast to Ocrakroke and saw that light house, along with the Cape Hatteras Light House (which we climbed!) on the way back. Currituck Light House is just a few miles away and is just beautiful and fun to climb. All in all, it was a GREAT vacation and we can't wait to go back again next year. The owner was extremely accomodating, easy to deal with, and promptly replied to any questions we had. All in all it was EXCELLENT experience and I highly recommend this rental.
Owner's Response: While we greatly appreciate this excellent review it should be noted 5 blocks is not like City blocks but rather 5 streets in Ocean Sands (approx 450 yards). Bikes are available for renting also
