AFFORDABLE, SECLUDED UP FUN. LABOR DAY WEEKEND IS OPEN!

Grand Marais Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Ultimate U.P. couples or family vacation destination close to attractions.

*Wake up to the sound of Whippoorwills in this secluded U.P. log cabin tucked away from absolutely everyone on a trophy size 'brook trout' lake and small mouth bass has just been added!

Come here for the best get-a-way the U.P. has to offer with an incredible price! About 1.5 hours from ‘da big Mac Bridge connecting Michigan's 2 Peninsulas. ...........

People tell us that we don't describe this cabin well enough. So here is our best: 'SOLITUDE ROCKS!! Hear what silence really sounds like. Read our reviews!

No people, no regrets, just perfect solitude! This cabin is the only place on the lake and for miles around!( there is a small hut nearby but rarely does anyone come there, and sometimes people may fish the lake or drive ATV's by) Sit on the sandy beach all by yourself and listen to the loons or watch the brookies jump for a fly with a backdrop of a blazing sunset. Put out the camp fire and crawl into bed with fresh, pure cotton sheets... Imagine...no one's going to bug you, no phone calls, no hassles.... all day long.

You could just push the row boat or canoe into the water and try your luck at our trophy size brook trout, (hard to catch) or some perch (easy to catch).

Maybe spend a day in Grand Marais and fish the pier for lake trout or just go play on the shoreline of Lake Superior and hunt for pretty stones & agates. Don't forget to try some speciality beers and great food while you are in town and go shopping in their little shops.

You could drive into Seney for a hamburger or a great meal at the local restaurant, but you decide to enjoy your own on the grill, inside the screened-in porch sitting in a rocking chair or in a swing over looking the lake with your nose in a good book.. It is your choice. It is time to drop everything and get away from it all.

With fabulous sunsets around a bonfire, you can watch deer swim near and hear the night sounds under the starry sky! The cabin is centered within easy driving distance to most U.P. tourist attractions including Pictured Rocks, many water falls, Mackinac Island, Soo Locks, Seney Wildlife Preserve, White Fish Point, the Two-Hearted River, and numberous Light-Houses.

3 bedrooms, sleeps 6 comfortably. Large mosquito-free screened porch, sandy beach, clear spring-fed lake great for swimming. There is a row boat and canoe on site with life jackets. It is the only cabin on the lake, (a small hut is nearby, but rarely does anyone come there) and for miles with nothing but trails, trails and more trails leading all over the Upper Peninsula.

The famous Seney national Wildlife Refuge (20 minutes) is a great place to spend a day hiking, canoeing, and animal watching. ATV rentals are in Seney if you are seeking adventure and exploration on all the trails surrounding the cabin. Grand Marais with it's speciality restaurants, is 20 minutes away with Lake Superior shoreline awaiting the agate rock hounds, sun-bathers, and boaters.

This is a vacation designation for families, honeymooners, couples, fishermen, hunters, families,or just about anyone wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The six mile long driveable trail to this cabin can be confusing at night, so please plan on coming in the daytime and enjoy the wilderness scenery on your way in.

The cabin is set up like a motor home with an easy inside push start button for the outside generator. All modern appliances for your convenience. With many returning guests your vacation promises to be one of the U P's Best. Clean & Affordable.

* Wild Blueberries near this cabin- July-August - September (Pick in morning for pancakes.)

UP FIX

  • 5 of 5
We needed the downtime and this was the perfect place. Quiet and nothing to distract us. We watched wildlife from the beach and the house. We hiked the area. We canoed the lake. We fished, we ate and had a wonderful bonfire. We watched the sun go down and the stars come out for a show!

Great location, great views, very relaxing. Only downside is the lake defiantly has not been stocked woth trout for a few years, atleast. Great fishing in the Manastique, and feels like what Ernest Hemingway tried to picture through his writings. Also relaxed too some old throwback VCR movies that Dale has at the cabin at night after a nice fire on the lake (wish you guys had diuretic tv out there, but betters can't be choosers XD)

GREAT CABIN

  • 5 of 5
This cabin had everything we were looking for. It was remote, it was isolated and it was clean. It was also well stocked with clean linens and towels, paper goods and a gas grill. About the only thing I would recommend bringing is sharp knives. The knives there were pretty dull. Other than that one small thing we weren't missing anything. We had mostly good weather and at night clear skies for star gazing. The Big Dipper came out every night perfectly framed between the trees lining the lake.

PERFECT QUIET

  • 5 of 5
We booked the cabin for a Girl's Trip week of talking, relaxing, reading, playing cribbage and just having fun. We did have a bit of an adventure getting to the cabin as it is off the beaten track. Called Dale who sent her housekeeper who met us on the highway and led us directionally challenged women to the right place. Even though we got lost on the way in, we loved the cabin for its remoteness. There is no sound pollution except for an occasional plane overhead. The night skies were absolutely fantastic. We did venture out one day to Grand Marais, but came back to the cabin because we preferred the peace and quiet of the lake and the loons and the breezes through the trees. I would definately recommend this cabin to anyone who craves unplugging from the sounds and cares of the world and enjoys total solitude and natural beauty. It was wonderful! The cabin is equipped with a generator so you can recharge your devices if you absolutely have to.

HONEYMOON

  • 5 of 5
Dale went above and beyond in insuring we had all the information we needed to have a great honeymoon at her cabin, even called us ahead of time to let us The cabin is outfitted with pretty much anything you need, except food- unless of course your meal of choice is mosquito pie (but with bug spray and their screened in porch- no big deal). Cabin was super clean when we got there. Dale and her husband run a top-notch operation, very impressed. We wanted a secluded cabin for our honeymoon- and this fit the bill to a 'T.' Even heard loons and wolves at night, I don't know how Dale arranged for their performances, but much appreciated. We would however recommend bringing your own DVD's if one so chooses to watch the tele.

GREAT CABIN!

  • 5 of 5
Our stay was everything we hoped for, magnificent fall color, but most wonderful of all the solitude and quiet, away from all noise of traffic, or human voices other than our own, just the two of us in this quite comfortable spot situated in true northwoods seclusion. One other surprising bonus was the kitchen, it was fully equipped with with cookwear that was top quality. Now that's something I've NEVER come across in a rental. You can't go wrong with this gem!
