CLEAN, NEAT HOME; TWO MILES TO THE BOARDWALK

My family and I simply loved the house! The furnishings, art work and kitchen facilities were exceptional, and the outdoor decks, provided a safe and relaxing experience. I would gladly recommend the house to anyone needing a place to stay while in Santa Cruz, and I look forward to staying there again!

We enjoyed our 6 days in the Santa Cruz area at 124 Pryce, a comfortable, one level 3-bedroom 1-bath house that is not pictured here. This place has a great location with a very reasonable price. It is close to Santa Cruz attractions and far enough away to avoid the constant traffic, and it is by an entrance to either the highways 1 or 17, east or north or south to the redwoods and Monterey and Big Sur or San Jose. Our friends and family who live in the area thought it was a real find. It was also clean and well stocked with books and DVDs with a comfortable front room. It was a good place for my husband and myself and our 16-year-old son. Spacious enough to give privacy to all. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. There are a lot of farmers' markets in the area. The fruit was luscious and on the way back from the aquarium we bought ripe avocados 7 for $1 and artichokes for $1 each. We rented sea kayaks at the pier and it was a short paddle to kelp beds to see dolphins, seals, sea lions and and sea otters.

Communications were very prompt, and we had phone numbers for a few people just in case we needed something.

It feels safe and is on a street that dead-ends into a river so there is limited traffic on this street. Easy parking on the street or in the back. It is only two blocks to Marianne's ice cream with excellent versions of old favorites and interesting unique flavors like cardamom/pistachio and lavendar.

We definitely would recommend this place and hope to be able to rent it in the future.

I give this place three stars with caution. Three stars for price, facilities, and location (proximity to 17 and boardwalk). But I can't give it four stars without a few warnings for future visitors...One, the neighborhood is loud, it backs up to an apartment building and we were woken up at 5:30 with garbage collection. Two, the laundry facility is coin operated and evidently can be shared with neighbors as it was used by a "mysterious" person during our visit, this was a little alarming as the laundry is located in the back yard. Three, there is a little misleading information in the description...there are TWO double beds and Two twin beds. Overall, we had fun while staying there and the house served all of our needs. It was certainly cheaper than renting three different motel/hotel rooms. Just wanted to throw out the cautions....
