The southern tip of the island of Miami Beach is where the historic Art Deco District can be found. The first buildings were built from the 20's to the 50's. It constitutes today one of the great examples of history preservations in the United States. Miami residents embraced 'modern' architecture with the same passion as they did modern technologies. Buildings characteristics of this period were also characterized by smooth stucco, clean lines, terrazzo floors, neon lights, and nautical motifs. The art deco movement drew inspiration from the modern art movements, particularly the concept of multiple points of view of cubism, and the themes of machines and motion in futurism. Buildings are located between 5th and 15th street. After falling at its lowest point in the 80's Miami, has started to revive during the mid 90's, to be become one of the hippest place on the planet. It is the place to be seen, not only for actors but also for singers and international business men.
