Overview

2nd Arrondissement Bourse Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Live as a local, with all international comforts, in a newly renovated architect designed, 32 square metre apartment, plus 8 meter balcony, (Caroline Hentschel DPLG),smack bang in the centre of Paris, near new and trendy rue Montorgueil (For those of you who have read 'Almost French'-by Australian author Sarah Turnbull- we've been unintentionally living the live version as a Franco-Australian couple in the same area of Paris).

Our apartment is easy to find being conveniently located within 1-3 minutes walking distance of 3 metro stations, including direct connection to Gare du Nord (Eurostar terminal) and also close to Chatelet/ Les Halles (direct connection to CDG airport) and a taxi rank is near by. There is even a bike place which has just opened up downstairs.

Once you arrive, you won't need to worry about transport because you can easily walk to the Louvres museum, the Georges Pompidou Center, the Marais area, Palais Royal and loads of Paris shopping bars and restaurants.

At the end of the day, it's easy to relax in our modern minimalistic light apartment, but still typically Parisian, with it's 18th century beams, which gives our (your) home a very cozy feeling. You've got all modern conveniences, highspeed internet (Apple G4) / free international phone to contact home, cable TV, DVD (all zones), etc (all listed below).

A feature is our garden balcony (with optional sail) where it is lovely to sit out and overlook all the roof tops of Paris with a nice glass of wine or with your 'café et croissants' in the morning (we're on the 5th floor - no lift - easy daily workout, save money on gym pass!).

Upon arrival,Breffni, Julien, Noella, or Vincent (who speak English!) will welcome you after your journey and be happy to answer any questions you may have. (They will then also 'be there for you 24/7' during your entire visit, should you have any further questions).

73 has been a perfect home for us (Australian classical singer/ music theater director and French journalist/ doco maker) and all our international friends and family...we hope you'll enjoy it as much as we have!

About Elizabeth and Albert Lecoanet

Franco-Australian couple, Elizabeth and Albert Lecoanet lived 'the Parisian life' in 73 rue de clery 5 years together (13 years altogether for Albert) before they decided to do a total architect-designed renovation of the apartment in the summer of 2007, and move to New York City, and rent out their Paris home.

The simple reason why they kept and rented their apartment in Paris, is because they have lived such a great Parisian local life, that they wanted to share this unique experience with fellow travelers.

French born Albert is a TV journalist now working as a foreign correspondent for French TV in the USA. You may see him or his name on M6, France 2, Canal Plus, TF1, Arte or some of the cable channels. Albert is also a documentary filmmaker.

Elizabeth (Liz) was born in Australia (Brisbane!) and is a singer, music theatre director, a teacher and a massage and sound therapist. She directed 3 musicals whilst living in Paris including Les Miserables (in French of course!)

She also sang beautiful ancient music at the church St Eustache, just down the road from the apartment, where thanks to the rehearsal each week, she also learned to speak French. You can go and hear the Choir 'Les Chanteurs de Saint Eustache' each Sunday morning at 11am, (free).

Today, Liz and Albert love, live and work in New York, and enjoy regular trips to France, Australia to visit their families and friends; and they also enjoy discovering America and other countries when the opportunities arise.

'Our apartment is for people who want to have a taste of what real life in Paris is like (except that we added all the 'non-French conveniences' like air conditioning, free international phone,etc.!).'

We hope you'll love Paris in our home, as much as we did!

Welcome to Peace and Light in the Heart of Paris!

Elizabeth and Albert Lecoanet purchased this apartment in 1998

What makes this apartment unique

Whilst we didn't purchase our Parisian home for a 'vacation rental', it was bought as a home to live in; it is located right in the heart of Paris and within walking distance to all the major 'tourist attractions'; for example, we are a 10 mins walk to the Louvres, 10 mins the other way to the Georges Pompidou Centre etc.

More interestingly though, for us, is that the current local hot spot for Parisians, Rue MONTORGUEIL, is only 3 mins away from our apartment. The Montorgueil street is a pedestrian street filled with cafes, restaurants, bars and specialty food shops. Fine local French cuisine. Need I say more?

This area is called Les Halles (or literally 'The Halls') and was the original market place of Paris (back in Roman times and up until the 70s!). When the car was invented, the small cobble stone street got all congested and the commercial markets moved out of the centre, however the Les Halles area kept its flavor and many fromageries, patisseries, and French specialties can be found in this area (including the Patisserie Stohrer dating back to 1750).

Magnifique!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying for 5 days in this wonderful little Parisian flat. Liz was so informative and lovely in the reservation process, and when we arrived the place was exactly what we had hoped it would be. The flat is well stocked with all the comforts of home, and thank god there are a few extra stairs to get up to the fifth floor because I was able to work off all the wonderful treats from just around the corner at Rue Montorguil. Don't hesitate - this is your place in Paris!!!

This was truly a wonderful experience and having a cozy apartment in the heart of Paris made it a perfect anniversary vacation. The apartment was bright, clean and so cozy. The balcony was a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and watch life in Paris. We were centrally located and were able to walk to all the attractions, including the Eiffel Tower. We can't thank you enough for letting us stay in your apartment allowing us the wonderful experience of living like a Parisian for 12 days.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much Sue for taking time to write a few, and such a lovely one at that. So glad you had a great time being Parisian! And yes, totally possible to walk to the Eiffel Tower. It's not our area (we are more central of course) but Paris is so small and such a walking city. I hope you discovered lovely things on the walk. We are here anytime you want to be Parisian again. Warmest always, Liz, Albert et Louis! (3 months now!)

The best apartment and central location

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this wonderful apartment for 15 nights and can only confirm what other guests have said. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything I needed. It is well situated, in a quiet street, close to the metro however I chose to walk to most places as the apartment is central to many attractions. Rue Montorgueil is a few minutes away where there is an amazing boulangerie and fromagerie as well as cafes and restaurants. Coming home each day was something I looked forward to, opening the doors to the balcony and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

Breff met me on arrival and departure and carried my bags up to the apartment which was very much appreciated. Liz and Albert have put together an extensive manual that explains everything you need to know including recommended restaurants and cafes. If there were any queries, Breff was only a phone call away.

I have stayed in apartments in different areas of Paris over the past few years and this one I will return too as it felt just like home. Thanks Liz and Albert.

Owner's Response: What kindness, thank you so much!!! The fact that it felt "just like home".. is exactly why we are renting it out and sharing our home with others - to have the experience of "living in Paris" -and totally agree about Rue Montorgueil - it just keeps getting better down there! Look forward to welcoming you "back home" again soon! Warmest, Liz et Albert (et Louis - 10 weeks now!)

Charming apartment

What a great place! Excellent location, clean, cozy, with a cute balcony. We stayed for a week and had a great time in Paris! The owner, Elizabeth, was so so helpful!! Thank you so much! She emailed me all the details and more in advance of our arrival. The friend that met us there was very nice too. We would love to stay there again if we go to Paris another time! It is on the 5th floor, but we didn't mind at all.

Don't just visit, live it

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for an over the top, extravagant place to stay for a few days in Paris, this isn't it. This is where you stay if you want the feeling of living in Paris, while saving your money for all the amazing food! My wife and teenage daughter stayed here for 10 days, and could not have been any happier. It is within walking distance of all the must see sites and parks, yet on a quiet side street. The bed and futon were perfectly comfortable, and the kitchen saved us. Also, how nice to walk five minutes and return with breakfast croissants to enjoy on the balcony each morning. We travel to experience new places, not sit in our room. Here, we had a comfortable and homey place, that felt safe, and at a great rate. Exactly what we were looking for, and exactly where we will return on our next trip to Paris!

Owner's Response: Stuart, this is just the best review. Thank you so much. This is exactly what we had hoped for when we originally decided to not sell and rent out our Paris home instead. It is real "Parisian living" - and hopefully nice and comfy too. We are so delighted that you had a great time, and would love to welcome you back anytime. Best to you all, and thanks again! Liz et Albert

A comfortable and well-equipped apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for 1 week in May 2014.

Owners, Liz and Albert, and property manager, Breffni, were very helpful and informative, before and during our stay.

The apartment is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped.

Before we arrived, we didn’t realize how fantastic it would be to stay near Rue Montorgueil. We went to Montorgueil every day, sometimes twice, for the fresh bread, pastries, cheeses, etc. Many attractions are within walking distance, and everything else is easily accessible from the 3 metro lines close by.

We had a wonderful week in Paris, and we really enjoyed our stay in this apartment.

Owner's Response: Bonjour Diane. I know, isn't Rue MONTORGUEIL fabulous!!!! I don't think a day went by when we lived in Paris that we would not walk up Rue Montorgueil, and shop for something - usually fresh meal for the day. It is just the best. It was part of our kitchen really. Albert and I are so happy that you had a great time, and found everything as accessible and easy as our life was in Paris. How lucky it is to live centrally! Thank you for taking the time to write a review! I hope this assists others too. Warmest regards, Liz et Albert
