Taos Getaway - Kiva fireplace and Mountain View

What a beautiful home! My mother is a Taos native and is wheelchair bound and this home was a perfect place for us and for her to especially feel at home. She said that if she still had her house in Taos this was exactly how she would have had it decorated! We felt as if we were at home. My children loved playing outside and the decor is just gorgeous. I loved that fact that anything you needed was at the home; especially the dishwasher! I dont have a dishwasher at home but I sure did enjoy this one. I loved that it was about 10/15 minutes (depending on traffic) to the plaza and the same distance to all my relatives who live there. Definitely going to use the home in the future again as well as Home Away! I dont think I will ever stay at a hotel again! Thank you Barbara for sharing your beautiful home.

My family and I just returned from a 4 night stay in Casita de Taos during Spring Break. Our boys skied while my husband and I relaxed and toured the surroundings. The house was as much if not more than we hoped for - beautifully decorated in the colors of the Southwest, clean and well maintained. It was very comfortable for us and our two teen boys. Angel Fire Ski resort is 35 - 40 minutes away - a little longer than we originally wanted, but not a difficult drive (the house is located not far from the turn-off to go to Angel Fire). If you are more expert skiers, I believe Taos Ski Valley is only about 25 - 30 minutes away. If you enjoy simple New Mexican cuisine (red or green chile enchiladas, tamales, etc.), we highly recommend Orlando's. Recommended to us by the casita's owner, it is a small place on the north side of town and very popular. Go early if you do not want to wait too long for a table!

Upon our arrival the house was very clean and well organized. Owner has put lots of thought into the inviting decor. The kitchen has all of the tools you need and more. House was near many of our planned activities and not far from plenty of local hot spots (restaurants, shopping, etc.). Plus the view of the mountain is great! We'd definitely stay at the casita again and hope to visit again soon.
