Enjoy your coffee on the deck or a pre-breakfast swim from the end of the dock. Bring your boat or use the rowboat and sunfish to take your family to one of three beaches in this private community. Find fiddler crabs in front of the house at low tide. The house has an open floor plan looking out on the water. The enclosed porch, deck and living area are wonderful places to enjoy the sunset, boaters and birds on the river. The swimming, sunning, and boating are right in front of the house.. Explore with the rowboat.. The house is in a private summer community with a swimming dock, beaches, and small playground.. The beach has lots of shoreline to walk and discover shells. Sailing lessons are nearby, as is a water park and miniature golf. This is a good area to stay or start exploring the rest of the Cape, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Boston or RI. Bring your computer. Wireless and cable let you stay connected . Both bathrooms have been recently renovated. Enjoy
Spent a happy Christmas enjoying all that the house has to offer - fireplace, comfortable beds and everything conceivable in the way of kitchen equipment and linens. We were delighted to see the pair of mute swans and some bufflehead ducks. One morning the sunrise tinted the clouds and the water spectacular hues - a photographers dream. The owners are helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
We had a wonderful stay! It is a great house in a beautiful location. We cannot wait to go back.
Having vacationed in the general area many times and stayed at some great spots including Onset Island, we opted to try Pocassett. We were not dissappointed! The house is beautiful with a great sunroom/deck area that looks out on the river. Just gorgeous. Shirley and Bruce have done a wonderful job with the house. Fully stocked kitchen and beautifully done baths, bedrooms and living areas. Primarily a fisherman, the fact that the fishing was a little slow didn't even phase us. Everything we were looking for and we will certainly be back. Many thanks to Shirley and Bruce.
We travelled from England and needed a base to visit friends in RI and Cape Cod. This was ideally located and proved to more than this as it was a brilliant place to stay. We loved seeing the water every day especially since it was sunny for all 10 days! The house was a real "home from home" with comfy beds and great showers. We made particular use of the sun room each evening whilst enjoying the lovely sunsets. The house is on a quiet road with easy access to shops and main roads. We would definitely recommend this property and look forward to returning in the future. Furthermore the owner (Shirley) was very helpful whilst we were arranging our stay and responsive to all our enquiries.
This a pack and go place. It's utilized better than my own home. No need to take anything with you! For example, you'll even find an electric mixer in the kitchen if you were making a cake, a binocular to explore the view and many board games to play. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and silverware. Dishwasher makes cleaning easy.
The place is very clean and is renovated. The bathrooms are one thing I will miss at my home. The view is the best I could imagine. The house is full of light with amazing views. We enjoyed sitting in the sunny room even on a cold winter day.
The landlord is very friendly. The pictures do not do justice for this house. It is much more beautiful and spacious than the pictures tell.
Although we decided to stay on the Cape for Thanksgiving at the last minute, the owners were extremely flexible and accommodating which made for a stress-free transaction.
The place was beautifully located, extremely well kept up and had everything you could possibly need to make the vacation a smooth and enjoyable one. Waking up each morning to the beautiful view from the master bedroom was an added bonus. In a word it exceeded our expectations.
The location on the Cape was perfect for the off-season as we ended up heading out to Provincetown, Boston and Plymouth during our stay. All under 1.5 hours from Pocasset.
Hope to go back in the summer to fully enjoy the water, nearby beaches and those beautiful sunsets from the deck.
This is an excellent location because you can either stay at the house and enjoy a Cape Cod water and beach vacation, or can readily explore the rest of the Cape, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket or Boston and Rhode Island. Falmouth is just 15 minutes away. Woods Hole with its aquarium and ferries to the islands is next to Falmouth. There is a picturesque biking and running path along the Cape Cod Canal, 10 minutes away and a biking path to Woods Hole. There are several summer theaters on the Cape.
Fishing and whale-watching boating excursions are nearby. Enjoy the house and the Cape!
