My expectations weren't great given the pictures in the website, although the reviews were very positive. Trust the reviews not the pictures. This place has amazing charm, is very clean whilst remaining practical. The owners go to great lengths to add detail both in character and warmth and welcome of stay. The place is clearly old, so needs to be treated with care and respect, but following the instructions of how to maintain the proper only adds to the experience. I'd be cautious recommending this to someone who only likes modern luxury, but to everyone else this is a real gem at a great price! Well definately be returning. Thanks John!

Owner's Response: I am glad you ejoyed the charm and authenticity of the Original Tahoe Log Cabin experience. I wanted to capture a sense of time travel when you walk through the doors. From the wooden bolt latches instead of brass door knobs to the log furniture, and wood burning/gas combo stove, we strive to preserve the time period this cabin was built in, circa 1930, by depression era out of work carpenter who probably could not afford the fancy brass door knobs. So he crafted wooden bolt lock devices instead. I love the place and am happy to share it with others who appreciate it as well.
