Excellent for Ski Trips, too
Our group of 10, including three middle-schoolers, had a wonderful long weekend at the house in the wintertime. The house is close to three different mountains-- within a half-hour of Catamount, Butternut, or Jiminy Peak. We found cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, and shopping/sightseeing nearby as well. But the house itself is perfect for winter nights and days. The kids hung around the living room with the wide variety of board games and puzzles provided, played pool at the billiards table, or went outside to play and go sledding on the grounds-- no begging for computers or TV time! The cooks in our group were gratified with the quality and size of the kitchen, which was very homey. The 1800s living room was perfect for those looking to sneak away for a quiet moment to read. At night there was little traffic on the road, and the house was nice and quiet. Lots more to say but in short: Highly recommended.
