The house is so lovely, it always feels like home when we get there. We are Dutch and have been in this cozy house many times already. The first time we felt so welcomed by Irene, the owner, and now every time we see each other the contact just is great. The character of her and her family is in and around the house!
This cabin is perfect for the couple looking for a romantic getaway. Perfectly appointed, my husband and I literally could not have asked for anything more. The decor was extremely tasteful, and we had absolutely everything we needed (and more). Rustic exposed beams, skylights, deck, and cozy fireplace made this midweek escape one of the best we've ever had. A large selection of books, DVDs, and brochures for all the local parks, restaurants, vineyards, museums, and villages ensured that we spent our time enjoyably. The bedroom was surprisingly spacious with a big comfortable bed, fine linen and bedspread, and perfectly furnished. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed cooking our dinner in the well-stocked kitchen with the local produce we picked up during the day, and also appreciated the wireless internet connection with helped us keep tabs on what was happening in the "real world". There was plenty of closet space for us to keep our things and even a washer and dryer. This cabin is truly perfect, and we plan on staying again.
My husband and I spent 3 days at the cottage and it was magical. Irene has provided you with everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay at her beautiful cottage.
Having just spent the past weekend in this little cottage, I can truly say that it was a wonderful experience. This small, yet cozy cottage at the end of Main St was warm and inviting, with all the amenities a couple could ask for. The kitchen was supplied with a variety of pots, pans and utensils so that cooking piratically anything we wanted was no hassle. The fireplace was warm and helped to set a romantic atmosphere, while the bedroom accentuated the rustic decorum of the entire scene. While Irene's house is a stones throw away, the cottage maintained the notion that you were in a little hideaway. I would highly recommend this cottage, and would love to thank Irene for her wonderful hospitality and ensuring my girlfriend and I had a lovely weekend!
Irene has provided you with everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay at her beautiful cottage. We enjoyed watching the snow fall silently all around us through the many large windows and skylights. We even saw two foxes in the adjacent field bedding down for the storm! The fireplace was very cozy as was the bed. My husband and I felt very much at home. Everything about the cottage was very clean and comfortable. Although we did not meet Irene in person she kept in great contact with us via email and telephone and provided us with all the necessary information about the surrounding area. We hope to return again soon!
Arrived in Kerhonkson and immediately felt like home. The house was so clean and inviting. Irene had towels, fresh linens and even a few beverages in the fridge. Dry wood and kindling for the charming fireplace and a great collection of DVD's and fantastic movies. The backyard goes on and on and the stars are simply breathtaking. We had such a great couple days and we certainly hope to be back!
Walking up to the cottage was like entering a fairy tale.the cottage was immaculately clean yet warm and inviting. It felt completely private with the reassurance that someone was available close bye. The cottage is close to everything you could ever want to do and is a fantastic home base if that,s your choice. I hope to make many more trips to this wonderful place and it's gracious and kind hostess.
