Evergreen House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 1 half bath, sleeps 2 - 8. Guesthouse 2-4

Welcome to our nature-wreathed getaway in beautiful Evergreen, Colorado!

When we were searching for our dream home in beautiful Evergreen, Colorado,

we were sold on this sweepingly rustic place the second we climbed the stairs into the main living area and set eyes on the view. The sweeping vista is framed by the softly swaying green-tipped branches on the trees that give way to the magnificent sight huge granite outcroppings, snow-capped mountains, and bright blue skies as far as the eye can see. We were instantly mesmerized, a feeling our guests report experiencing themselves time and time again. Here you can rest, relax, and breathe deep, knowing all you need in order to enjoy yourself is the key!

You'll also have access to an optional guesthouse, which offers up another bed and bath (additional fees apply). We lovingly took what was once upon a time a one-story living space and reimagined it from the ground up. An open-loft bedroom upstairs lends not only square footage but also an overall airiness, mimicking the breathtaking altitude outside. Instead of mass-produced drywall, we opted for pine, aspen, and slate, surrounding ourselves with a tangible homage to the incredible land that surrounds this mountain oasis. From the walls to the ceiling to the bathroom, everything is custom. This is heaven with a hot tub, and you're invited.

Book with the Original

In June 2012 we received the first ever short-term rental permit every issued in Jefferson County. It was a difficult permit to attain, as the residents here are committed to preserving the incredible landscape and coveted way of life that makes this locale so truly stunning, but we managed it, and we work hard to maintain the necessary requirements to keep the permit in effect. To date, there are still only 2 legal short-term rentals in all of Jefferson County (versus 40 listed in Evergreen), but we proudly retain the title of 'The Original.'

House (

The Basics

The house, which sits on a sprawling 4+acre estate, measures a roomy 2200 square feet. This generous footprint encompasses:

• 3 bedrooms, including a master with a king bed and en-suite bath

• 2 ½ bathrooms

• A fully-equipped kitchen

• Dining room

• Living room

• Loft

• Laundry room

• Hot tub

• A breathtaking view of the sun rising and setting over the surrounding mountains

House Overview

The main floor features an open-concept design, with the kitchen, dining, and living room areas all connected to allow friends and family to gather and enjoy each other's company. Also on the main floor is the laundry room and the master bedroom (complete with its own en-suite bathroom), and a deck that looks out over the mountains.

Part of the home's charm is its feeling of tranquility and privacy – you can't see any other houses from your perch on the property except for houses on other mountains, far in the distance – but you're still close enough to town to conveniently attend to routine shopping or have a meal at one of the nearby restaurants. This unique blend of solitude and opportunities for socialization makes it optimal for almost any family, group, or other fun-filled getaway.

The House's Amenities – Room by Room

Every room in the house has been outfitted with thoughtfully selected pieces of furniture, linens, and artwork all chosen an overall innately rustic vibe – and the overall Colorado experience – in mind.

• In many ways the kitchen is the heart of the home, and you'll find the kitchen here fully equipped to cook up just about any heart-warming creation you can think of. Forget cast-off cookware and hand-me-down dishes; our kitchen is stocked with newly bought items that are regularly updated with both aesthetic and quality in mind.

• The kitchen is open to the dining area and living room, creating one large unbroken space ideal for gathering and socializing. An oversized glass window gives diners a panoramic view of the outdoors that, given the open concept, can be enjoyed from several vantage points throughout the main level. Lounge on the cowhide-adorned leather sofa and chairs; cook up a quick snack or a multi-course gourmet meal using the spices, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, bakeware, and even a full complement of spices stowed in the large kitchen; gather around the hardy wooden dining room table and enjoy your hand-crafted culinary creation by the soft, glowing light of the vintage-look bronzed chandelier; or start your day off with a robust bowl of oatmeal from the comfort of one of three barstools accompanying the adjacent breakfast bar.

• The master bedroom has a masculine feel, thanks to the spacious king bed topped with cowhide pillows and complemented by leather accents. You'll find a television hidden away in the armoire, perfect for those nights when you just want to snuggle and sack out with a movie or two. The master bedroom's attached en-suite bathroom features dual his-and-hers hammered copper sinks set in elegant Caesarstone quartz countertops, the beautiful sheen of both accented by rich Italian tiles with glass accents.

• Comfort and character are key in the Guest Bedroom, where the queen-sized bed is accompanied by southwestern-style artwork, drums, and peace pipes. The vaulted and high-sloped ceiling lends a feeling of spaciousness, making this secondary bedroom seeming nothing short of first class. Also called the Indian Room, this bedroom is filled with furnishings that lend the space a unique Colorado-esque feel. From the rich patina on the copper-inlaid rustic pine headboard and dresser to the custom-finished turquoise night stands and a complete set of complementary artwork, the entire bedroom stands in homage to Colorado's distinctive charm.

• Also upstairs is the loft, a separate living space filled with a television, games, and music options, great for indulging in some indoor entertainment on a rainy or particularly relaxing day.

• Finally, we reach the Bear Room or Jarrett's Bedroom, an awesome two-story kid-friendly hideaway with bunk beds and bear-themed décor that we designed with our littlest guests in mind. Little black bears climb the walls (probably in search of honey, but that's just a guess!) next to the full/twin bunk bed, and a sleeping loft containing a queen bed is accessible via a rolling library ladder. There's even a log bench and a custom horn coat-and-hat rack, making this one very cool bedroom indeed.

The Great Outdoors

The outdoor area surrounding the physical property is every bit as enthralling as house itself. The house sits on 4+ acres' worth of property and abuts parkland that totals a whipping 1100 acres of gloriously untamed wilderness. One of our favorite things to do is just sit on the deck and relax. It's easy to forget your cares when you feel the pine-scented wind softly ruffling your hair as the sun lazily drifts through the clear, blue sky. The sights and sounds here are second to none, with critters of all shapes, sizes, and colors coming and going as they please. We get elk, deer, chipmunks, all kinds of birds, and in September 2012 we even saw a mama bear and her two cubs crossing the road, coming home downtown from Evergreen. Hot tub aficionados take note: while drinking in your share of the cool mountain air, you may be visited by Fox E. Brown. Our resident friendly fox has kept us company through a few hot tub excursions and beautiful sunsets, grooming himself from his perch on the rocky outcrop that juts out over the tub as we soaked. Don't worry, he never jumps in!

Our Home is Your Home Away From Home

Though our home in Evergreen is no longer our primary residence, we still take great joy in maintaining and sharing the property with guests who we know will come to love it just as much as we do. Over the years we've had groups return time and time again, creating so many memories in the warm, cozy comfort of our home. From honeymoons to holiday get-togethers, anniversaries to annual hiking trips, family reunions to friends who just want to spend a little time in the pines, people come from all over the world to discover for themselves just what makes our little enclave so very special – and you could be next.

The Cabin (aka The Guesthouse)*

For those trips for which you need a little extra room – or a little extra privacy – we offer the option of renting out our Guesthouse, otherwise known as The Cabin. Within these beautiful slate and knotted-pine walls you'll find an extra bedroom, complete with a king-sized feather bed, and an extra bathroom. This is the perfect place for meditating, writing, or working on your latest painting, and there's even WiFi should you feel the need to catch up on a little digital correspondence. Otherwise, curl up under the covers and watch the lights twinkle in the distance thanks to the impressive 21-foot tall windows. Slip out the front door and into your own private hot tub situated on The Guesthouse's deck; whether you choose to commune with the local wildlife, sit in silence and watch the moon rise over the freshly fallen snow, here you'll have the seclusion and quiet to live out your heart's every desire.

*Guesthouse/Cabin rental is in addition to rental of the main house. Please inquire about availability and associated fees when booking your stay.

Perfect mountain getaway!

The house is beautiful, loved the decor. Once you walk on the balcony and take in the view, you won't want to leave! Although we did find time for the short drive to Blackhawk for an evening of gambling and dinner. Sandi was more than accommodating, from booking to arrival. We did run into "foxy brown", the resident fox a couple of mornings,as well as deer, during our hikes. Couldn't of asked for a more beautiful house, property, and vacation! Thank you so much

Owner's Response: I love that you all loved the house and property!! We feel exactly the same! The view draws one out on the deck, and then it's so hard to leave!! So glad you like the decor too. We are always trying to improve, sometimes small things, sometimes big things! Soon there be renovations to both full bathrooms! I think they will be beautiful, and I hope you all will come back to check them out, and relax some more on the deck!! So happy to hear that you got to see Fox E Brown!! And the deer! It is so peaceful and serene around the house, yet so many things do to, so close by! Thanks again for coming, and hope you'll all be back very soon! Sandi

Fabulous Evergreen Getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We arrived on a cold, snowy evening after a longer than expected drive and the cabin was warm and inviting. I actually wished there were more than two of us because the cabin had so much to offer a bigger group -- the upstairs is awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed the views from the kitchen and dining room windows - the mountains looked like a fake Hollywood backdrop -- so majestic and beautiful. I could see us living there -- any chance you'd sell it to us?:)

Evergreen is a magical favorite thing being the lake, the ice skating, hiking, and the wildlife -- we saw more elk than ever!

Restaurants were abundant also....favorites being Willow Creek, Muddy Buck and The Bistro.

We will definitely be house hunt!:)

Thank you for everything!!!!

Owner's Response: We are thrilled that you enjoyed the house! It offers a wonderful place for a couple, or an entire family to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain views! We are constantly maintaining and upgrading the house and cabin, to offer the premium place to stay in Evergreen! After your visit, we added new slider doors, making easier access to the deck! You're so right about the plethora of activities in and around the Lake and all of Evergreen! Evergreen in the wintertime, especially, looks like a Norman Rockwell painting! And the summertime is absolutely! The Aspens in the fall.... Well you can see I love it here! I hope you can come back soon!! We'd love to have you!
