Photos and Description of the Camden vacation house rental
- 3 BR, 2.5 BA, Sleeps 6.

Overlooking Rockport Harbor, this artist owned historic home has been renovated with the conveniences required by a modern family. A large, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, new gas stove top and two ovens is bright and open with a large eating area facing the harbor. The living room faces the harbor, has leather furniture, high definition cable TV, Blue Ray and a working fireplace. The music room has a large collection of cds for its stereo. The study features nautical, collector car and both fiction and non fiction books. Rest peacefully in the master bedroon with new Sleep Number bed and en suite bath featuring double sinks and both a large stall shower and a sunken tub. The two additional bedrooms with adjoining bath are cheerful and well appointed. If you have your own vessel, we provide an inspected mooring within sight of the house, as well as dedicated dinghy dock space as a courtesy to out guests.

Rockport Harbor is home port to some of Maine's most beautiful yachts, schooners and a fleet of working lobster boats. The Marine park provides a gorgeous setting for family picnics and features 'Goodie's Beach' for swimming. The Opera house, Maine Center for Contemporary Art and the Maine Media Photographic Workshops are within walking distance of the house. They host live performances, exhibitions and classes. Wine shops and specialty food stores plus the Sherpards Pie Restaurant offer excellent choices for residents and visitors. Walk or drive the mile and a half to Camden for an array of shops, galleries, restaurants and yet another beautiful harbor stopping on the way at Aldermere Farm to see the Belted Galloways. Tennis and golf are also located nearby plus lovely hiking trails and the roadway along Beauchamp Point. Indian Island Lighthouse is within sight of the house.

About Carol Latta

Tom and I moved to Maine in 1997 to pursue an uncomplicated life in a pristine environment with access to the ocean for sailing. We chose an updated period home that is comfortable with modern necessities, has excellent views of the harbor and ocean 365 days/year, and is within walking distance to a myriad of activities.

Carol Latta purchased this house in 1997
Why Carol Latta chose Camden

Location. Location.Location. Feel at one with Maine and the ocean at Latta's Harbor Haven. Although close to Camden, our home is actually located in less busy but still beautiful Rockport Harbor. The home is nicely appointed but comfortable to enjoy with your family.

What makes this house unique

The walls of Latta's Harbor Haven are decorated with paintings from our travels in Maine. My photo is on the cover of your copy of 'Maine: An Explorer's Guide' to use during your stay. If you have a boat, our mooring and dinghy dock space is available.

A Wonderful Stay By The Harbor

5 of 5
Submitted: February 11, 2013 Stayed: August 2012
We loved Latta's Harbor Haven, and stayed there for 8 nights in August, 2012. The nicely renovated house retained all of its its nineteenth century charm, and was filled with the owner's art. The view of the harbor from master suite never ceased to astound. We even used it as a backdrop for the picture on our annual Christmas card. Its just stunningly beautiful.

The location was perfect. The Town of Rockport may be quiet, but we were nevertheless able to walk downtown to a chamber music concert one night. There also is a great ice cream stand about two blocks the other way. Camden is a 5 minute drive. The convenient Central Maine location also made day trips to the north and the south a breeze.

We loved out stay in Central Maine, and chosing Latta's Harbor Haven made the trip all the more better.
