Great Guana Cay is a 7 mile long out island in the Abaco Bahamas chain known for it's unspoiled natural beaches with the world's 3rd largest reef very close off shore for perfect snorkeling and diving conditions. The island is not over developed or crowded and only a 30 minute ferry ride from the main town of Marsh Harbour for shopping and the airport. Guana Cay has the tropical paradise feel with golf carts and walking the main transportation mode, but has the convenience of a grocery store, dive shop, 4 wonderful restaurants and famous Nippers Bar and Grill Sunday pig roast. Have that far away feel on Guana Cay, yet only 1 hour from Florida.

Fantastic Abaco trip!!!

Our stay at Lemon Tree Cottage was excellent- the cottage has all the conveniences we needed and was absolutely perfect for the two of us. It was excellent value, clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable, with plenty of storage space. We loved cooking fresh grouper (from Milo!) on the grill, and sitting outside watching the beautiful stars at night! You might see shooting stars if you’re lucky... but don’t forget the bug spray! On the one thunderstormy day of our trip, we were very thankful for the satellite tv and air-con! The cottage is a 5-min walk from the amazingly beautiful Atlantic Ocean side, and literally a stone’s throw from the picturesque Abaco Sea side of the cay. We got a delicious picnic lunch from the bakery, which we ate on the Abaco Sea boat dock while watching the boats go by, and the ray and fish in the water. A fantastic trip!! The cottage is close to everything- we only needed to rent bicycles from Dive Guana to get around. This is a perfect place for people without a car! Snorkeling the reef is a must! Go to see Jerry and Chorene at Pirates Cove for wonderful food and drink, and even better company! We’ll never forget those baby back ribs and fresh tuna! Many many thanks to Karen and Steve for renting us their beautiful cottage and making booking so easy, and to Jackie for all her help!!! We have already recommended you to our friends! We had a fantastic time… we’ll be back!! Kirsty and Maghnus.

WOW, What a place. Exactly like I imagined clean, quiet, air cond. Me and my girlfrind Elsa had so much fun here. The cottage was Great!! Everything was perfect. Our up-stairs neighbors Eli & Susan filled us in on all of the to do's. And Jackie made us feel right at home.. The House is Just a hop,skip and a jump to Grabbers for that Sunset Drink and some food.
All the Locals are super nice. Pat and spot(the doggie) at Nippers, aaaaaa Nippers,(our 2nd main hangout) Can't forget the first time walking up the sandy trail to Paradise. Stop at Milo's Fruitstand yummie. Jerry's Corner Cafe Bakery always had something cookin'. Having a boat was Great thanks to Jay at Waterways. We can't forget the place. Karen, thanks for everything.
Sorry we missed you in L.A. Our Memories of Abacos and Lemon Cottage will last a lifetime.

We had awesome week staying in your beautiful home! We will definitely keep your home in mind next time we visit the Abacos. (Which would be next week if we had our way!!!!) We are so jealous that you guys have a home to visit down there!
Thank you so much for the tips that you gave us before we went down - the bug spray was a MUST!!! Jackie was so sweet - we saw her a couple more times around the island and was so nice each time! And thanks for refering Joe and Susan to us! We had a couple extra hours before our flight and felt totally comfortable leaving our luggage with him for a few hours while we walked around shopping!
We can't wait to come back and visit!

The Lemon Tree is a great house with great views. Very well stocked and well kept. Easy access to everything on the island-Guana is definitely a lay back, chill out place to be. There is one groccery store which is stocked on Thursday when the barge comes in, 2 bars and 1 cafe, 1 restaurant being re-furbished, 1 small liquor store and a restaurant at the marina I believe.
This is a great place to get-away and relax.
