Photos and Description of the Greenville vacation house rental
2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, sleeps 4

This gorgeous 2-bedroom, 1 ½ baths straw-bale house sits high on a ridge above northern Maine’s famous Moosehead Lake, on 5 private acres with world-class views sweeping westerly over the lake, islands, and surrounding mountains into Canada. Located at the gateway to the Great North Woods, a vast, pristine wilderness area, it is only a short ride to a sandy beach and boat launch into the great lake. Hike, kayak, fish, or explore the Golden Road that leads to Katadhin. Sunsets from the deck are mystical, fall foliage unparallelled, winter a snow lover's paradise with nearby trails. This house is attractively furnished and sleeps four. It is fully winterized, with year-round road access.

The height of the house (700 to 800 feet above the lake) allows fall folliage to be viewed for many miles over the lake and surrounding mountains.

The property is only a ten minute drive to Lily Bay State Park, where there is a sandy beach and boat launch onto the great lake, as well as numerous hiking trails.

My husband and I spent a wonderful, relaxing week at this location. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked with all of the amenities and technology that we like. We loved the contemporary style and hay bale building. Moosehead Lake was beautiful. We brought our own kayaks and found some lovely spots to use them. There are two fantastic inns in the town. We had a great dinner at each one. The food was as good as anything we have had in Manhattan. We were pleasantly surprised! We also like to cook. I would suggest that you bring any out of the ordinary food that you like with you. The grocery stores do not carry a lot of upscale stuff.

We had a wonderful time in Moosehead Lake thanks to the comorts of this home and the beautiful nature surrounding it. The views at virtually every time of the day from sunrise to sunset and even the night sky (zero light pollution) were incredible! Great places nearby to kayak, hike, walk, run, fish, swim and see wildlife (moose, dear, bears). You will not be disappointed with a stay here. In fact, you will have a hard time leaving!
