Great Views of Lewis Bay and boating activity from pool area and most west facing rooms including dining room and upstairs bedrooms.

Great Island (West Yarmouth), Cape Cod is a unique private gated enclave of Shingled Cottages and Trophy Homes. By any measure, Great Island is a Five Star community. Our section of Great Island is situated between Nantucket Sound and Lewis Bay. We have access to Five Private Beaches, the largest of which consists of pure white sugary sand and is comparable to any world class beach except that on the busiest day it is shared by only a handful of homeowners.

Area attractions include spectacular beaches, summer shops, museums, great restaurants, art galleries, live entertainment, plays, sightseeing, trips to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket (you can watch all the island ferries from our home), great fishing off our beaches in late August (Blues!). Great public Golf courses, unique shops on Main Street Hyannis.

Our home is an Architectural Jewel. It has been featured as the Home of the Week in the Boston Globe.

For 2007 - 2011 most of our key weeks were booked by April!

Off season rates for 2012 start at $3,500 per week. Our 84 degree custom Gunite pool with great views of Lewis Bay boating activities and Cape Cod Sunsets makes September feel like mid August! We are available for select off-season stays (depending on our family usage) at $900 per night (3 night minimum) plus $150 cleaning charge. [Cleaning fee is included in full weekly rates] This works out to $2,850 for a three day weekend.

Weekly rates include linens and cleaning.

Two main bathrooms have double sinks, house has a total of ten sinks including two kitchen sinks, a bar sink in Media room, and a utility sink in the greenhouse (great for washing beach gear). We have added the half-bath in 2010.

We have just completed rebuilding the upper deck which surrounds the upper level sleeping loft. This deck has views of Nantucket Sound and Lewis Bay, as well as the Pool area.

Notes: Very gracious architect designed home, in family since 1967, in neighborhood of Cape Cod Cottages & trophy homes in private gated community. One of the most beautiful private beaches anywhere is a short walk away. Master bedroom with King, one bedroom with queen and two twins, one with queen, Media Room with queen pull-out, two other private overflow sleeping areas each with two twins, one in finished basement, other in unheated loft over garage ( the basement & loft are intended for children). Private heated pool in backyard with views of Lewis Bay. House has hosted many family weddings. Gracious and accommodating house in absolutely gorgeous beach getaway setting. Ideal for 6 adults, plus 4-6 children. Main living part of house will accommodate very large family gathering. The Queen sleeping Media Room closes off with louver doors, and there is a bar sink there. We have a Frontgage queen sized raised inflatable as an option. Yamaha Conservatory Grand Piano.

Guest Comments: 2012 marks our eighth season renting out our family home. Many of our bookings are repeats, one family has stayed with us every year! Over the years we have done extensive tree cutting in order to open a great view of Lewis Bay and Nantucket Sound from both the pool area, the dining room, the upstairs bedrooms as well as the sleeping loft. You can watch the Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard Ferries leave Hyannis Harbor and again as they round the tip of Great Island and head out on Nantucket Sound. We have refurnished the living room and media room with very comfortable new sofa & side chair (not the set shown in the photos) and refurnished all three primary bedrooms as well as the finished basement and loft sleeping areas. In recent years, we redid the kitchen floor in top of the line hardwood to match the rest of the house, added a 40 inch Sony Bravia High def TV to our media room, and installed a new Jenn-Aire stove. Central Air on first floor, window units second floor.

One of our guests wrote:' We had a wonderful two weeks at your Great Island home this summer. We love the house. It's beautifully decorated and very well equipped. The neighborhood is so quiet- just the way we like it. The heated pool is just delightful. Our kids loved that room (Aerobeds in Loft). It was a great idea to add that room this year. ...
