- 2 BR, 1 BA, Sleeps 6.

You are only 75 feet from mean high water!

Watch the gulls, Loons and seals from the terrace, porch or living room. Watch the lobstermen come and go . Particularly watch as the schooners set sail Monday and return on Saturday. Be sure to bring binoculars. Exploring is very satisfying for the museum fan, the shopper, the antique seeker and the lighthouse enthusiast. The Camden Hills provide some hiking, with casual dining in the village restaurants. There are varied dining experiences up and down the coast. A recent tenant said 'no restaurant tops a lobster dinner at Snow cottage!.'

Activities of surrounding area: Across the harbor is Samoset Resort. Golfers often refer to it as the Pebble Beach of the east. There are other courses in Rockland. Also the breakwater where the light house is, a wonderful walk, especially when the

schooners are coming and going. You can rent a boat, you can go for a sail...several hours to several days to a week. New this summer, helicopter scenic rides!! The opportunities are numerous!!

Snow Cottage is on the south shore of Rockland Harbor and it is in the town of Owls Head, Maine. From the cottage you can enjoy the Windjammer Parade in July, you can hear the North Atlantic Blues Festival ( if you like your music quieter), Wonderful view of the Friendship Sloops in July, enjoy the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland in August, events all summer at the Owls Head Transportation Museum and capping the summer the Union Fair a favorite of many!! Nearby is Rockland with many shops, galleries and the renowned Farnsworth Museum. Camden is thirty minutes and a favorite for shopping, dining, or hiking. From Brunswick on up Rte 1 there are attractive coastal towns.There are shops and restaurants along your way . You can visit the busy coastal communities, but then return to peaceful Owls Head.

Other Activities: Casual to elegant dining, boat rental, day sails, Golf at several courses

We loved Snow Cottage!

We were fortunate enough to stay at Snow Cottage several years ago. We found it to be even better than advertised, with all the comforts of home plus a beautiful view of the harbor. The location was perfect: right on the coast and close to shopping and restaurants, but removed from the crowds. It was so relaxing and peaceful to sit and watch the sunsets. The owners referred us to cruises in the harbor, and local restaurants for excellent fresh lobster. I can’t wait to go back!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

My Favorite Maine Stay

I just spent my 3rd summer renting the Snow Cottage. For me, it is the perfect Maine experience. The mix of on the water and surrounded by the woods is so beautiful and relaxing. I have been coming to Me. for almost 20yrs. and have stayed in many places, but this is the one I will keep coming back to and hopefully for more than 1 week next summer.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
