Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

This ground floor unit offers the guests to BBQ on the Lanai. The condo is decorated in quality island style furniture. The master bedroom has a king size bed, 42' plasma TV, walk in closet, and separate tub and showers. The first guest room has a queen size bed, and a 32' LCD TV with DVD palyer. The second guest bedroom offers two twin beds, and a 32' LCD TV with DVD player.

The ground floor also offers the great grass area behind the unit. We have a tailgate toss bean bag game available for our guests. The living room has a 3 cushion sofa with hide-a-bed, and two large wicker chairs, a 50' plasma TV, a DVD player and a IPOD docking radio. The dining room has a glass dining table with seating for eight. We have three young children ourselves so the unit comes with a highchair, port-a-crib, and toys (please be sure the kids leave them behind). The oceanside pool area offers a great workout area, plenty of seating, a private restaurant/bar and a BBQ pit. For those of you who prefer the beach we have provided 10 beach towels,6 beach chairs, 2 boogie board and a couple umbrellas. Your stay here will be a memorable one. We hope you will return year after year.

We are a young family who likes to travel. We have 3 young daughters and 2 female dogs (daddy is out numbered). We live in Northern California. Our goal is to provide our guests with the same vacation experience that we expect and enjoy.

Why Doug Erickson chose Waikoloa Village

We have enjoyed visiting the 'Big Island' since our honeymoon is 2000. We used to stayed at a very famous resort until a few years ago when they tried to charge us $50/night per fold up bed when we were on a (Family Package). After that we decide we wanted to continue to visit Hawaii, but did not want to deal with the hotel 'profit centers' any more.

What makes this condo unique

Families with young children will enjoy the ease of not having to pack and travel with items such as port-a-cribs, beach towels, games, toys and other youth items. All of our guests will enjoy brand new furniture, TV's, kitchen items, and beds. We do not buy garage sale items like some owners. We have a lot of return guests, and we hope every guests visitsd us again. Exactly What We Hoped For

We needed a condo with 3 bedrooms and a location central to the activities we planned on the Big Island. It was a bonus for us to be able to stay in the Hali'i Kai community and this well appointed and maintained unit in particular.

Of note, the kitchen is fully loaded with all the dishes and utensils we needed and there were food items like olive oil and seasonings that we did not have to buy and were available to enhance the food we prepared. The lanai with table & chairs, a ceiling fan, and BBQ was a frequent, comfortable hang out spot particularly for those beautiful Hawaiian Sunsets. The condo and garage were stocked with the chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, and towels we needed to enjoy Kohala's beaches. We used the golf balls available at the condo at the King's course and, in addition to enjoying our round, we were fortunate to come back with as many balls as we took!! The Hali'i Kai community is beautifully landscaped and the pool and ocean views are gorgeous. (The pool is approximately 0.3 miles from the condo, an easy walk or bike ride.) Near the pool is an access point to a hiking trail that leads to a small black sand beach to the north and the Anaeho'omalu Bay (A-Bay) beach just south of the Hilton Waikoloa Village to the south.

One suggestion for improvement: I am not a technology hardware expert, but maybe the wifi equipment is due for refreshing. We all had our devices and used them in part to plot activities and driving routes, so the many times that we lost connectivity were mildly frustrating. (We simply rebooted the router and eventually got done what we needed to do.)

The owner was certainly customer friendly and overall we enjoyed our stay at this unit. Based on our experience, we would definitely stay again stay at this unit (or one of his other properties).

Relaxing, quiet, great stay

Our family of four stayed for 12 nights in June/July. The condo was comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed. The owner was easy to work with.
All of the four beds were comfortable, and the unit was quiet. There was a grill on the lanai which we used several times. There was a nice area of grass just adjacent to the lanai and our kids really enjoyed playing there.
The condo was well stocked with kitchen equipment, detergent, soap, etc. The washer and dryer were huge and worked well. There were plenty of beach towels and beach chairs, tennis rackets with balls, and even some kids' scooters and two bikes.
The unit was in good repair. The only thing we noticed was that the carpet is showing its age.
One of the best thing about the is the pool. It is right next to the (lava) beach, and there are absolutely gorgeous views of the sunset from there. The pool has a black bottom, so it warms up very nicely in the afternoon and stays warm in the evening. It closes at 9 pm. (We wished it stayed open later!) The Ocean Club Restaurant was very good and we'd recommend some sunset meals there. Although some reviews for this condo complex indicated there was excessive monitoring and supervision of the pool, we thought it was all very reasonable, not too intrusive, and allowed for a safe and reasonably calm environment for all.
We also enjoyed using the basketball court and the tennis court on the grounds. Speaking of the grounds, they are kept in excellent condition and are beautiful.
You definitely need a car if you stay here.

Serene and comfortable stay on the Big Island

We had a great experience staying here for a two week vacation. The condo is very well equipt for an extended family group. Everyone had their own TV to use, which made for a very peaceful get away. We especially enjoyed the pleasant evenings and BBQing on the patio. The youngest of the group appreciated the boogie boards to use at nearby Hapuna Beach. (5 minute drive). Loved the mattress in the master bedroom...very comfortable. The complex is quiet and meticulously maintained, and was easy to go for walks and stroll down to the shoreline to enjoy the sunsets and whales. Probably the most comfortable and quiet condo we have ever stayed at. Our restaurant tip is Cafe Pesto in Kawaihae Harbor. Good pizza, fresh fish, great salads and decent prices. Thank you for sharing your property with us!!!

We really had a great time on the Big Island, and very much enjoyed your condo!! It was great to have the tennis rackets,!! balls, beach chairs, beach towels etc… and the use of the oceanfront pool and club. I think we ate there at least 4 times. Your condo is very comfortable and well stocked and decorated beautifully!! For your info, everything seemed to be working properly,loved that your unit is on the corner and bottom floor, played lots of games of cornhole(sandbag game) It was an amazing value for our group of six… We would definitely consider staying in your place again. The oceanfront pool really makes you place stand out in comparison to the thousands of condos in that area!! Good choice!!:) Thank again, for sharing your beautiful condo with us!!

WONDERFUL!!

This condo is the greatest!! We live on the other side of the Big Island, so we are very familiar with the area and units. I have to say that they are very well maintained, the pool is great, and this unit has everything you need. The complex is nice and quiet, spacious, and is right on the ocean!! The owner is very responsive and is easy to communicate with. We are actually planning our return visit as I type this :)

AMAZING - Paradise on the Big Island

This condo is simply amazing. It is located about 35 minutes from the Kona airport in Waikoloa, a resort town on the northwest part of the Big Island. The condo itself is beautifully decorated, has all of the amenities including a BBQ on the veranda, gorgeous pool that is not that crowded, grassy area to play and a wonderful ocean/lava rocks view from the patio/grass area. It is great that the condo is on the first floor since you get that extra play space and grass area. The master bedroom is fantastic and the other two rooms are great, perfect for kids and an adult couple as the rooms are side-by-side. The part that most impressed us was the house was fully stocked - both with household items like paper towels and the like, but with beach towels, snorkel gear, beach chairs, a bike and many other fun things to enjoy the island. The owner answered all of our questions right away and was easy to reach. Another added bonus is there are two shopping centers close by for grocery purchases or to go eat out if you'd like. All in...an amazing experience. Thanks!
