However, if you prefer you can take gentle drives down country lanes and wend your way to visit local chateaux, such as Coussac Bonneval, still inhabited by the Marquis de Bonneval, or follow the route of 'Richard the Lionheart', stop and sample food and wine in some of the prettiest villages in France such as Segur le Chateau, Montemart, St Robert, Collonges la Rouge and Turenne, or relax by one of the many swimming lakes in the area. Wend a little further and visit the unique sights of Sarlat-la-Caneda, Rocamadour or Cirq Lapopie, a few of the picturesque villages that make up the Dordogne and Lot Valleys.

Chabrenas - definitely one of the best !

Liz333 Thirsk/Yorkshire, UK
Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The Chabrenas farmhouse was a perfect holiday spot for us. The area was very beautiful and we had great weather. The farmhouse itself is set in a very lovely private courtyard, which the hosts have made exceptionally pretty with beautifully maintained gardens and flowering containers in abundance. The lovely gardens really added to our enjoyment of the place; lovely to walk around in the cool evening or sit out at one of the pretty patios with a morning cup of tea. The farmhouse is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Lovely bathrooms and everything was VERY clean. the hosts have provided lots of thoughtful extra touches ...they provided a printout of the upcoming weather forecast which was very useful and were very charming and helpful with information about the locality. We have stayed in other villas in Europe where we never met our hosts and where you got the impression the hosts had furnished it with their cast-offs and expected guests to break everything (no ornaments of any kind and pretty spartan furnishings)...so Chabrenas was a delightful and very welcome contrast to that. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses and cookware. There were lots of books, games and maps and files of information on places to go, where to eat, shop and sights to see. The pool was particuarly nice, surrounded by lovely flowerpots and super views of the countryside, again very clean and well maintained, a good size and pleasing temperature, with lots of loungers and umbrellas for shade. Jenny and David obviously go to a lot of trouble to ensure everything is perfect for their guests...and it certainly was for us. We would thoroughly recommend Chabrenas to anyone...you would certainly not be disappointed.
Owner's Response: The time our guests have on holiday is very precious, so we try to make Chabrenas as enjoyable a place to come as possible and one that feels a bit like 'home from home'

FABULOUS HOLIDAY

MaggyBraggy WIMBLEDON, LONDON
Review Submitted: September 7, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Chabrenas was just perfect. We were a family of 3 generations and we all had a fabulous time. Both the house and cottage were spotless. My father-in-law is an artist and spent many an hour painting in the beautiful peaceful gardens. The design of the pool, with a ledge at the deep end, helped the smaller children to take part in water games. The forest was a huge winner, especially as my youngest saw a deer and we were able to pick blackberries and make compote. Jenny and David couldn't have been kinder, helping us out with a bit of a problem and the updated weather forecasts were brilliant, something that is so important when on holiday. The surrounding area was beautiful as well, with loads to do and see.
Definately the nicest property we've ever stayed in. Even the children said so!!!
Owner's Response: We just love to see guests enjoying themselves and our aim is to keep the smiles on your faces for your whole stay at Chabrenas

A superb house in a very quiet location

Ian20 Suffolk & Essex
Review Submitted: August 22, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
The house is extremely well equipped and had everything we needed. The property is maintained to a very high standard. Jenny & David extend a very warm welcome and we found that they are always happy to provide any advice or local information.

Chabranas is great for relaxing if you don't feel like doing much but there are plenty of interesting places nearby if you want to get out and about.

This year was our second visit to Chabranas and every bit as good as our first.
Owner's Response: All our guests are very special to us and we try to make their stay as comfortable as possible. It is wonderful when they come back for another visit - and we like to think of it as old friends returning,

I thoroughly recommend this farmhouse in Limousin

Margretu Durham
Review Submitted: July 6, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Chabrenas is a beautiful and comfortable farmhouse. The gardens surrounding the pool are tasteful and well tended. There are padded loungers and parasols around the pool for everyone and plenty of places to have a drink or eat in the garden. If you imagine that this is a very nice place, it is nicer than that actually.
The village is quiet but there are essential food shops and a post office.
The tennis courts in Meuzac are very difficult to find but David will instruct you on how to book them and Jean-Marie will show you exactly where they are.
Owner's Response: Anything our guests ask of us - we will always try our best to help and make their stay with us stress free! The whole point of a holiday!

Could be anything from tennis, a trip to the dentist for a broken tooth, or even Golden Wedding Anniversary celebrations - just let us know.......
