NEW LOWER RATES FOR 2009 4 season cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee with private, shared beach on quiet road in Meredith, NH. 3 bedrooms plus pull-out couch in living room will sleep 8 comfortably. Large front deck with water views. Shared beach is 50 yards from the front door. Public launch is 2 miles away, bring your boat or jet ski, or use the canoe included at the beach. Beach is shared by only 10 other houses and is very quiet. Bring your bikes to enjoy the country roads or bike into town for lunch or shopping. Cook outside on the gas grill or in the well equipped kitchen. Oven, stove, microwave and full size refrigerator. Meredith is the gateway to the White Mountains and is a beautiful New England town. Weirs beach in Laconia is only 15 miles away. Enjoy all the big lake has to offer or visit the mountains for skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer. This property is exactly as described - the pictures are very good indicators of what the house is like. Rustic, comfortable, and very well equipped. Clean, well-maintained, and set off the road in a wooded lot, so it's very quiet (at least it was when we were there). There were a lot of games and some puzzles already there. Just a lot of creature comforts you don't necessarily find in other houses.

We stayed at this house during the last week of August 2009. It was very quiet. The private (but shared) beach was perfect for my kids (4 and 5) - lots of sand, and the water is shallow for about 15-20 yards from the shore. The beach gets a lot of sun during the day, despite it being around so many trees..This particular section of the lake doesn't see a lot of motorboats - just people coming and going from their docks.

The town of Meredith is maybe a 5-8 minute drive from the property, and it features a lot of stuff to do if it's raining, or you have bored kids on your hand (train rides, shopping, restaurants, and just walking around stuff). We only took one trip into Weirs beach - that was about 15 minutes away.

The owner was very responsive right from the start - answering all our inquiries within the hour. Avoiding a rental management company is nice - we didn't have to pick up or drop off keys, which can add time and worry (are we going to get there before the office closes?), etc.

Clearly, I'd recommend this property to others - and we'll probably stay here again.

An escape from city living

My family and I rented this home in June of 2007. It was wonderfully secluded from noise and traffic. There were many things to do in the surrounding towns with public beaches, arcades, amusement parks and lots of shopping. The quiet nights gave time to play board games and things with the kids, that they are really not interested in doing at home. They were actually willing to spend quality time with mom and dad. The home was nicely kept and clean and had many brochures to highlight local attractions. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is definitely a winner. We kept busy every day we were there and it was nice to come back to a quiet place to end the evenings. The weather was nice and warm during the days, but to our surprise the nights got quite chilly. Our only regret was that we were not able to see the fireworks before we left due to the heavy rains. Overall it was a good experience.
