This property is exactly as described - the pictures are very good indicators of what the house is like. Rustic, comfortable, and very well equipped. Clean, well-maintained, and set off the road in a wooded lot, so it's very quiet (at least it was when we were there). There were a lot of games and some puzzles already there. Just a lot of creature comforts you don't necessarily find in other houses.
We stayed at this house during the last week of August 2009. It was very quiet. The private (but shared) beach was perfect for my kids (4 and 5) - lots of sand, and the water is shallow for about 15-20 yards from the shore. The beach gets a lot of sun during the day, despite it being around so many trees..This particular section of the lake doesn't see a lot of motorboats - just people coming and going from their docks.
The town of Meredith is maybe a 5-8 minute drive from the property, and it features a lot of stuff to do if it's raining, or you have bored kids on your hand (train rides, shopping, restaurants, and just walking around stuff). We only took one trip into Weirs beach - that was about 15 minutes away.
The owner was very responsive right from the start - answering all our inquiries within the hour. Avoiding a rental management company is nice - we didn't have to pick up or drop off keys, which can add time and worry (are we going to get there before the office closes?), etc.
Clearly, I'd recommend this property to others - and we'll probably stay here again.
