We recently spent another wonderful week at "Banana Cabana", our second year in a row. The property is all that the descriptions and photos promise and more! The house, pool and grounds are well maintained and give you the feeling of home. There is plenty of space for nine people, and a number of areas to get enjoy quiet time alone. I would highly recommend it for families or groups of friends. Even though the property is not directly on the beach, it is only a short 5 minute walk to get there. This stretch of beach is lovely and much less crowded than Destin or Seaside. There are beach chairs and umbrellas for rent by the day or week. There are a number of shops and restaurants within walking distance, a bike/scooter rental a block away and a Publix Market about a five minute drive. There is a great fresh seafood store called "Goatfeathers" within walking distance. For those who want to visit the Outlet Mall, Wal-Mart, or chain restaurants the drive into Destin takes about 20 minutes. There are many wonderful restaurants. Cafe 30-A is right on the corner, Angelina's Italian Restaurant a block down, and Bruno's Pizza a block away. In Seaside, about one mile to walk or cycle (parking there is at a premium, so I wouldn't recommend driving) there are many quaint shops and restaurants (Bud and Alley's was a great lunch spot). Pompano Joe's has wonderful seafood and is right on the water a few miles away. The Back Porch is also right on the beach and has great fresh seafood (bronzed Amberjack is a personal favorite) it is located in Destin. The owners of the house, Chris and Jennifer Martin, are always very helpful. They see to it that your vacation is enjoyable and stress-free (which is what a vacation should be). The security deposit we payed was returned very quickly after our vacation's end. I would highly recommend this location to anyone!

Owner's Response: What a Lovely review & Thank You! I do agree that parking in Seaside can sometimes be "Tricky" (@ certain busy times of the year). But I would certainly Not discourage any of our Guests from driving there. Seaside is soooo convenient to "Banana Cabana" (We are only 1 mile East) & it is an easy bike ride or even easier drive. There are so many wonderful shops, restaurants, etc...I live here full-time & any parking "issues" one "might" experience are sporadic. FYI: There are some add'l "Hidden" parking areas behind Seaside that perhaps were not known about by our previous guests. Hope to see you @ "Banana Cabana"!!
