QUAINT CAPE COD WATERFRONT COTTAGE

The cottage is tiny, but comfortable. The owner is very responsive to any issues that may arise while you are there. The cross ventilation is wonderful, so if it isn't too hot outside, the windows keep the cottage quite comfortable. The kitchen is very, very small but you can certainly cook in it. The gas grill works well and the deck is a lovely place to eat.
The owners obviously spent some time and thought on the decor. It is quite lovely and truly contributes to whole "cottage on Cape Cod" feel.
While it is a duplex, we never saw our neighbors except to say hello the first day. There is ample space in the yard to share and plenty of seating. Each cottage has its own deck.
The walk to the beach is not long (10 to 15 minutes depending on your pace). The beach is quite wide, so there is plenty of room for all. You can also take nice long walks on the beach as well. We didn't discover the outside shower until the last day. It was wonderful, hot water and all.
We were there the last week in June and found it mostly sunny with nice breezes. It was warm enough for the beach, but sometimes the wind made it uncomfortable to sit there. Other times it was absolutely wonderful. There is plenty to do in the area. We also went a little further afield and took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. That was a lovely day and easy to do. It was worth the hour drive to Wood's Hole to catch the ferry. I would advise leaving extra time as the shuttle from the parking to the ferry terminal takes a while. Traffic on Cape Cod can also be tricky, so extra time is good. We loved wandering around Falmouth when we had extra time waiting for the ferry.
All in all, I would not hesitate recommending this cottage to anyone as long as they were okay with it being small. We were and it was perfect.

This is a nice cottage with pleasant views of a salt marsh from the spacious backyard. The living room is cozy with a nice dining table, a TV, a couple of recliners and a pullout futon that is comfortable to sit in, and serves as a bed for two. The bedroom has a nice queen bed that is spacious for two as well.

The kitchen is a bit tight, but is well furnished and has a full stove and a refrigerator. This was more than adequate for the few meals that we prepared at home.

There is a really nice deck/patio on the side where we spent much time relaxing. There was a grill outside, but we never used it. The backyard has a nice firepit, we lit a bonfire and sat around it a couple nights.

There is a beach a short walkable distance away, but was a bit disappointing because of the sea weeds that had washed ashore. But our 4-year-old had a great time anyway. There are a few other pretty beaches about 20 minutes away by car.

The location is convenient. Grocery stores, fast-food joints, and take-out restaurants are less than 10 minutes away. So are a couple of mini-golf places - Pirate's Cove for instance.

We would recommend the place for couples looking for a romantic getaway or even for a trip with extended family members. The location, convenience and value are excellent. Dealing with Jac (the owner) was a pleasant experience - all the way from when we were trying to book the place to after we departed. While we were at the house, we had to call Jac a couple of times, and he was incredibly helpful.

We would definitely consider staying there again when we plan a vacation to Cape Cod.

My husband and I rented this cottage in early August and very much enjoyed it. The property was immaculate. Clearly well cared for and nicely decorated. Loved that everything was new; unlike the tired old furniture you find at most rentals.

Since it is one side of a house, you do need to share the backyard with other renters. We ending up sharing some cocktails and bocce with our "neighbors." So it worked out fine.

Definitely bring your bikes to this cottage. You can be down to the beach in about a minute on a bike!

Great summer rental that really has a Cape Cod feel. We look forward to going back.
