Our home is located in beautiful Travis Heights, one of the oldest neighborhoods in this vibrant city known as the Live Music Capital of the World. We are on a quiet street (no through traffic) next to the heart of SOCO (South Congress Ave) which offers some of the finest restaurants in the city along with unique shopping (no chain stores) & live music all within walking distance. You'll come back from your explorations to enjoy the well shaded back deck, fenced back yard for your pet(s), hardwood floors throughout, the fun updated kitchen with stainless steel counter tops & a tiled island for you to gather around with your refreshments as you plan your next journey. We are close to parks such as Zilker & Stacey, the hike & bike trail, Town Lake, which offers some of the best sculling in the country, the Convention Center, downtown with more great restaurants & live music, Auditorium Shores, the popular bats at the South Congress bridge, Whole Foods Market, museums and so much more.

We had a lovely stay in Academy Drive. Our party was made of 3 adults and one toddler and the house was the perfect size and layout for this. The master bedroom is large enough to accommodate an energetic 3-year old and everything had been thought through. We enjoyed drinking our welcome bottle of wine and found the information pack, leaflets and maps very useful. The location is obviously fantastic, being so central. Our timetables (and the weather!) unfortunately did not allow us to make use of the decked area outside but we’re hoping we can do so if we have the pleasure to come back next year. My daughter said: “I really really love this lovely house” and we adults could not agree more! A great house, full of character, in a great location.

Our family stayed in this wonderful home over the
Thanksgiving holiday. It is a wealth of unique
Austin decor; a real enjoyment! We comfortably
entertained and served lunch to 12. Our guests (all
from Austin) were so impressed - they all have
asked for rental information so they can have their
families stay there in the future. Sandy is a great
landlady; she offered any help and even delivered
an extra table for us to use! We can't wait to return!

We enjoyed staying at this house very much. It was perfect for my wife and myself and our mother/mother-in-law who joined us. The house itself is set up very nicely and the location is perfect in relation to downtown, UT, South Congress, St Edward's etc, Zilker Park, etc. The master bedroom is very nice and roomy with a comfy bed. Although we ate out most of the time we enjoyed having the nice kitchen to make coffee and breakfast. You will find plenty of pans and cooking utensils in the kitchen. We also really appreciate Sandy being pet friendly - our two hounds really had a good time in the backyard and sleeping on the nice cool hardwood floors. This beats a hotel by far and really is a good value.

We had a lovely time staying at the home. Great location, very clean, very quiet and lovely shade trees to provide shelter from the blistering Texas heat. It was dreamy lying on the couch, looking through the windows to the squirrels and birds playing in the trees that surround the back deck. I was born and raised in Austin and upon returning to show my family the town I only wanted to stay in Travis Heights which still hangs on to a bit of funk from "old Austin." I highly recommend the house and Sandy and Glen! The "year round Christmas tree" on the back deck is fabulous! Thanks!

The house is really nice, well kept and located in the nicest area of Austin (especially if you are going to the Lonestar Roundup Hot Rod Show, few minutes walk from the Continental Club). We were in 5 and it is a good size giving you enogh privacy.
