Recently renovated w/pine floors, character intact, deck and screen porch opening into a beautiful live-oak canopy and landscaped garden. A short walk of 11/2 block to beach access path ( approx. 800 ft.). 1 block to recreation center with lighted tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields, inside and outside basketball courts and a wonderful play area for young children. There is also a doggie park. The Isle of Palms is a family-friendly beach community with beautiful ,wide, sandy beaches, rental homes and permanent residences, as well as some condos in the zoned areas. If you prefer to drive to the front beach area(about 1 mile). there is a county park on the beach with parking, beach showers, changing rooms, and life guards ) This is adjacent to a small business area with souvenir and resort clothing shops, as well as an assortment of restaurants. There is also a grocery store and restaurants in the shopping area as you come onto the island by the IOP connector.

The city of Charleston has a world-class aquarium, carriage rides, self-guided and guided walking tours, exquisite shopping on King Street, wonderful parks and marinas. Across the spectacular Ravenel Bridge in Mt. Pleasant, you'll find Patriots Point, with the Yorktown aircraft carrier which houses the National Medal of Honor Museum. There are many excellent golf courses, including the Wild Dunes Links Course, and the Kiawah Island Resort Course.

Take a morning stroll on the beach and watch the sunrise, the porpoises play just beyond the breakers, and the seagulls and beach plovers as they forge just above the tide line. If you're feeling energetic, a good mile walk will drop you off at any of several restaurants for a leisurely breakfast. Then a nice stroll back, a swim in the ocean, and a good book set the stage for a restful, pleasant day at the beach. Later there are things to see in nearby Mt. Pleasant and shopping just over the Connector at Town Center, historic tours in Charleston, fishing charters and eco-tours at the Isle of Palms Marina, kayak rentals, boat rentals, jet skis, and just about any entertainment on the water or in the city. Just ask and the locals will be happy to share their enthusiasm for this wonderful island so close to Historic Charleston.

Charleston also hosts the Spoleto Festival USA mid-May to mid-June, a wonderful blend of the international and national arts, and Piccolo Spoleto featuring local artists and fun activities. The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition is the first of February. This is a marvelous gathering of wild like artists, sculptors, and exhibitions of all things wild. Fireworks displays on July 4 light up skies all over Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms. Nothing prettier than the fireworks as seen from a beach chair as they light up the skies over the ocean.
